somewhere in venice….. /
Clear perspex modern phone booth contrasted against a timeless backdrop. There are some cool black garbage bags in the distance and the hard concrete blocks provide a great platform against the distressed wall veneers.
Couldn’t help uploading this shot… I usually stay away from picture postcard imagery, as there are many who do it better, however, I think this image has a certain quality to it that translates the beauty and substance of Venice. The light was amazing that morning.
I tried to capture classic muted tones in this image – hoping for the illumination of reflective rain and wetness to add that special impact.
/ venice, italy…....the early morning mist fades as slices of sunlight cut across the waterways

Taken in winter on a very wet day the photo was shot from St Marks Square looking over the grand canal to San Giorgio Maggiore Island
Highly manipulated shot of the Basillica in Venice. Photo taken on a very dull winters day.

Traghetto (plural: traghetti) means “ferry” in Italian. On Venice’s Grand Canal, traghetti are the passenger boats that cross the canal at seven points between the railroad station and St. Mark’s Basin.

Canal of Dreams featured in The One Great Shot Group 2008. For the longest time I dreamed of a wild adventure in Italy. In April 2008 that dream became an extraordinary reality. With heightened, rich, vibrant colours canal of dreams creates an almost painterly impression of beautiful Venice. Canal of dreams is a personal favourite. It is a reminder of the adventure of a lifetime, the many bridges I crossed and the memories that linger on. I hope one day to return to my Canal of dreams. (c)sooz2008
A typical Venetian window, this one I loved with the Bottle bottom look stained glass. The Shutters and glass is close to true colour. I brightened up the wall colour, the original was a little more washed out.
This is one of 2 pictures I am loading of the Grand Canal, I have a few more, but these where the 2 I been debating over for a while. I like them both for different reasons and could not decide which I preferred. This one I like for the subtle reflection and the light on the homes along the bank, and of course the Lone Gondolier. It was a day full of many seasons, the few days we were there at about 3.30pm the clouds got very dark and it poured like we were in the tropics. Only to clear up as fast as it came around 4pm, and then we could all venture out again. Venice is a magical place.
2500+ views, 33 faves. This is one of my favourite shots taken on black and white film and taken in St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. I have scanned the print. I like the timelessness of this shot and the sense of innocence. She was surrounded by the pigeons at first and she didn’t mind. But later, one flew on her head and she minded a lot. I recently made a sale on redbubble with this shot. A matted print in Off White to Lucy, my sister-in-law, in the UK. Many thanks so much for purchasing this. This shot was featured in the Urban Art Group, the Other Side of Italy and the I love Italy Group.
Venice, pure and simple. (Konica Minolta S414, 28mm, f:8, 1/350, ISO-64) .
A gondolier makes his way across the Venetian Waters in the fog
These gondolas were taken in Venice, Italy. I used a black and white film and scanned to digital to enhance the mood. I sold a small laminated print with a white border to someone in the UK, on redbubble. Many thanks so very much indeed.
Original watercolour pencil drawing on paper (42cm/60cm).Following a visit to Venice I have been inspired by the Venice Carnival to capture the colour and mystery of the Venice Masks.
