  • This is image is part of a series called Recycled. I used a flat bed scanner to make images of objects and materials we regularly dispose of. Artist Statement Pollution, global warming, excess and abuse are all topics that we deal with daily. I am very concerned with these issues at moments and yet, as the rest of my culture, I tend to look away or excuse myself from the responsibility of dealing with them. In this project I seek to materialize this process of ignorance or neglect. / Often times we see these detrimental issues as things to make news and conversation over, not things that we need to invest in or make changes to. We find ways to make money from the negative actions we have already committed rather than making effective, global changes. / In a way, I carry out this same process in my images. I turn something used into something new and beautiful. I compose trash into an image that we want to look at and admire rather than feel embarrassed or ashamed of. / My images are meant to be pleasing to the eye. They are new visions of everyday objects. However, they ARE trash. This creates tension. Something that is supposed to be thrown away and hidden so no one has to look at it is displayed in a positive light and very large so that you want to admire it. It is this confusion and contrast that I want my viewers to experience.

  • ...is another man’s treasure My choice is not spawned from religion or / politics. I have seen women suffer too many / times. Out of the 12 women I know only 2 / felt relieved, small number, makes you wonder. / Planned parenting was created by a KKK supporter / for “race purification” – research guys, research. I do not completely agree with abortion. My concern is / more for the woman than the actual fetus. These / “side effects” are critical in at least 1/2 the cases. / Abortion should be approved in a case by case scenario. / If you disagree and choose to comment do so rationally / and in a respectful manner. I am tired of seeing men throw / a hissy fit over anti-abortion supporters, seriously guys? Adoption , it should be considered. What also / should be considered are the cases in which / abortion should be allowed such as rape or incest. / It should not be that easy to take a human life legally. / Abortion is not a means of birth control so stop using tax dollars to fund it and claim that it’s a “personal choice”... / Research has proven that a fetus can move away / from poisons injected into the uterus as early as / 6 weeks from conception. • Aren’t you glad this isn’t your home?? My husband and I drove by this abandoned house the other day. This is the first time I’ve been able to get inside one. Usually I’m toting the kids, and can only get a quick shot of the outside. Oh man, this place was TRASHED! But so fun to photograph! Unfortunantly, I didn’t have a tripod, nor was there really anything to use as one, so only a couple of my HDR shots didn’t turn out a complete blury. HDR This piece was featured on the Redbubble Homepage May 23,2009 and in Dilapidated Buildings group, Eerie Lighting group and A Photographer’s Craft. THANK YOU!! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / This piece can be found in my Once Upon A Time Calendar. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——

  • Ah, the noble raccoon

  • Another image from my ‘green room’ series, shot at ABM. This time I elected to concentrate on light and composition instead of colour. It would have been so easy to crank up the red on the ‘Ladder Safety’ poster… but I like the darker B&W mood here rather more. At full magnification it is still possible to read every word of the ‘Ode to Roger’ pinned on the noticeboard.

  • “Humor begets joy. You cannot have joy in your life without / humor connected with it. Imagine a candle, and the wax of / the candle is joy, and the wick of the candle is you. The / candle stands there inactive. Nothing happens with the wax / (the joy). It is suspended in a shaft that is going nowhere, / but is poised and ready. Then the light and flame of humor / is assigned to the wick (you). It will start to melt the / joy and activate it. You can smell it, and the joy then / becomes pliable. It is working, it gives off light, it is / alive—because of the humor that is applied to it. Humor / is the catalyst for joy. Joy begats peace and melts the / Human heart. / KRYON Model: Cassie MY WEBSITE For a Quick Look click / Gorgeous Gods & Goddesses, / Flowers, / Beautiful Places and Things, / Weddings / Pregnancy and Babies
