HI all, / I have an employee that is 27 years old struggling with her daughter who is 8, having to have a kidney transplant. The mother , Jennifer, is going thru tests now to see if she is compatiable, but time is runnning out, as Kayla’s kidney is failing faster than an earlier determination. / All I am asking is, that you would email me with words of comfort, as I can print them out for her to read. / An article in the Sun News, here in Myrtle Beach, made front page last week. If Jennifer can find a total coordinator for a fund rasier. I will be doing the Media part for her. Unfortunatley, I work too many hours to be a coordinator. Just asking for prayers and encouragement for both of them. contact me at: miata2@sc.rr.com or bubblemail :) Thank you one and all :)

Another take on my “Transplanted Lands”. This one went to a slightly different climate planet. I wonder which will fare better?
Traveling over the mountain last Spring with a girlfriend, what a change in scenery this was from pine-covered forests. In a little town called Mossyrock, there was this endless sea of color – tulips everywhere… / Of course, there was a roadside shop that we investigated and spent a little cash…but the photo-op was a have-to!!! / They were gone 2 weeks later, upon our return trip as Mother’s Day had passed. Would have loved to tiptoe through these…;) / /

Mrs. Louise is 92 years young, of sound mind and feisty spirit. She sits on her front porch and watches the traffic go by, enjoys the flowers that have been blooming for decades, and remembers the name that goes with each face she sees. I stopped by to visit her today and told her that the cuttings for the purple roses she gave my mother years ago are now huge bushes that are still producing in abundance. She was glad to know that something from her garden is still brightening somebody else’s garden long after the initial transplanting. Mrs. Louise’s purple roses now blooming in Mama’s garden are pictured here. I added filters from PS to give the image more texture and more artistic flair.

Today received our copy from the Fight Cancer Foundation. / In it is an article about our donation of 10 framed photogrphs to the Bone Marrow Ward of the Royal Melbourne Hospital. / Staff have been getting feed back on how greatly the images on the walls of the rooms have enhanced the environment for those going through such a traumatic time in thier lives. / I was a “guest” there just on 1 year ago having a BMT, looking at blank bleak walls…when I just happen to have enlargement images come back from the lab, so we blue tacked them to the wall…through those images I was able to escape to the Otways, Outback, Craigs Hut and a host of other favourite locations. / It is so great to know that others are now getting the same benifit. / Readers are being directed to my redbubble portfolio to view images and I have had a number of people advising they intend to buy on redbubble. VICKI HAS ADDED THE IMAGES BELOW TO VIEW…Thanks Vicki:-) /

So I wanted to take the opportunity to share some thoughts. I wanted to share the thoughts and the inner details that fuel the art and photos that I produce. I am still somewhat new to RB and having a blast here, I am testing out the waters so to speak, making sure that I am safe to be myself and to share who I really am. So who, what, where, why, and how? Well as you know my name is Audrey and I live in the US, I am a transplant from Europe and in many ways I am having a bit of culture shock. Why? Well the USA loves to tell the world that they are the most progesssive nation in the world. I agree that technologically they may lay some claim to that but socially the primitivism is at the neolithic level. So here I am a European girl, married to a European guy but living in the USA and dealing with the taboos and social norms of a society I do not understand and that fails to understand me. I have tried to embrace it but now fail to see the relevance of it. So here I am reclaiming who I am the girl that was lost to the mediocrity of banal 9-5 existence for almost 5 years. So what of those taboos? Americans are generally a prudish and contradictory culture. For example the beer ads and famed “Super Bowl” commercials are full of vapid, semi nude blonde bimbos but women with style and attitude are considrered bitches. Me? I am considered a bitch and a deviant and somewhat scandalous. Why? Well I do nude photos, I am bisexual, I say things the way they are, I refuse to celebrate mediocrity, I dont like to dress like a frump, act like a frump and I dont find cultural relevance in their absurd TV programming. I just do my thing and quite happily breaking the taboos of a hypocritical social culture. As an example, this is a culture that wants to see boobs, they worship and deify the BOOB but when they see the nipple suddenly the girl showing that nipple is instantly branded an exhibitionist slut. Ok well they think its bad I happen to find “exhibitionist sluts” to be quite attractive and appealing. I love nipples and see nothing socially destructive about them but for some reason they are ‘taboo” hairy man nipples and boobs are OK, perky girlie boobs warrant an “R” rating for movies. I mean we all have nipples and half of us have tits and are born with them but to see another girl’s in the theatre on the screen you need to be 17?Shooting, killing, beheading, etc all OK for primetime TV but watch out for those tits they are the things that inspire serial killers. But thats just one example many. Dont get me started on the drinking age of 21 when you can be drafted to fight in the military at 18 but cant have a beer afterwards. OK so not to bash on Americans completely or to base my opinions on the rantings of a few backwards religious zealots I will say that living where I live is a blast. I do encounter some phenomenal and wonderful people I love my new city and I love my life. Perhaps it is those few zealots and prudes we meet, who shoot off at the mouth so rudely that are most memorable and offensive. Perhaps it is the strange adherence to obsolete bureacratic law. I will say that the majority of my new found friends are sweet, caring, and pleasant people. I have met some incredible people and encountered some brilliant minds I just wish that some things made more sense. So that is my foreign transplants view of life and culture in America so far. I think that the ideas would make an excellent book one day if I am succesful at being a biography worthy “exhibitionist slut”.

Not many of you know that I underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant a few years ago – and joined RB soon after. Well, it’s exactly 3 years to the day sice the tranplant and I’m celebrating. One way to share the love – I’ve drastically reduced my % on ALL my images/Tshirts for a limited one week only. A couple of my photos from 3 years ago … Thanks to all those who have provided their wonderful love and support. / Paul
