The key to this capture is the wings -transluscent Really worked for this one – about 60 shots and over 95 degrees in July 2007 Nikon D70s Nikon 70-300 EDIF
A friend of mine wrote the following poem inspired by this image: “There remains of the original form / only translucent wings / no longer of use / discarded / falling back to the earth. The new form / now shed of it’s chrysalis, / Walks this earth / Ever so lightly, / As if lifted on gossamer wings. Gaia sighs / With the knowing / Of the new arrival.” / Trefor
I had to do a “mood” project at school with a spotlight and, of course, I wanted to do a “horror/stress” mood in the girls locker room shower and I got a spotlight, all the lights off, and a friend of mine and after about 5 seconds, I got this =]
A macro of the dried up Hydrangea flowers in my garden, they reminded me of delicate little wings. / Best viewed LARGE
List was a lovely white blossom. The setting sun playing through the leaves gave it this beautiful green. No color touch up by me, all mother nature.

Driving home from Garie Beach as the sun edged towards setting I rounded a bend in the road and nearly ran off the road. A golden light was streaming through an angophora forest rendering the leaves translucent and picking up the vivid orange of the bark of the trees. It was utterly mesmerising. This is my attempt to capture it the next day when I brought the camera with me. / I adore angophoras – if a tree could have acute arthritis it would look like an agophora – they start twisting and bending and gnarling almost as soon as they sprout and often the arching branches are almost as thick as the trunk which tends to pull the whole tree over so they grow sideways as often as they grow vertically. Each year the rough outer bark peals off to reveal this vibrant orange beautifully smooth trunk. And on top of that they are absolutely brilliant climbing trees. / Garie Beach is in Royal National Park just south of Sydney. Canon 1ds MkIII / Tv: 1/30sec / AV: f/5.6 / ISO: 400 / FL: 28mm
Translucent Blue is taken as is from Finepix S7000 camera with no twiks only cropped to take out the green leaves in the back ground:) / Taken in 2004. / / MCN:CE3C0-00904-D9282
