I created this transfer collage on watercolor paper to express the peace I feel when I tune into my Divine guidance. Through the deep pain of powerlessness watching the death of a loved one, I began to see what is really important in life. Much about life had been hidden from me because I wasn’t ready to have the deeper secrets revealed to me. “The Omniscient” is an attribute of Allah which means the “All-knowing”. We aren’t meant to know what we don’t know. But the more willing I am to go inside into my heart and to listen with a different ear, I begin catch a glimpse of the undefinable. It is a journey of a lifetime, for me like creating art-an intuitive, spiritual, creative expression from the heart. I get excited about the “Unseen”. I get excited about the mystical experience of losing myself in the music of the soul as I walk on my Sufi path.

Got very lucky with this one as nearly all the dyes were transferred onto the blotting paper. The blotting paper used has a very rough texture and because the skin tones and corset are quite light you can really see the texture of the paper used. This image was shot on transparency film and the transparency was manipulated further using a Daylab printer and Polaroid pull apart film where the film is pulled apart before a positive can be processed. The dyes remaining on the Polaroid film were then transferred by rolling onto blotting paper. This is a very unique technique as you will never be able to reproduce the same image twice. There will always be a different amount of dye remaining on the film each time you do it making each image different from the last. Polaroid transfer scanned plus type. / A Very Big Thank You to my friend PJ Ryan for allowing me to use one of her poems to go with this Polaroid transfer. My Wonders You look up at me with a toothpaste grin / and I’m wondering / how I ever created something / as perfect as you / with big brown bear eyes / that twinkle / like lights in a winter window. Would it matter if I wanted to hold you for an hour / and not let go / would that be too much? / You run past me / dancing and swirly curls / and i wonder / why I ever deserved / to have someone as gorgeous as you / in my world I wonder / if I ever met you / my heart would still never forget you / because you’re a yearning in my soul. At the old railway stations there was the elevated water tanks for the steam engines. This image is underneath the stone and brick tank support structure where the water well is located and pipework via an old pump transfers water from underground to the much higher holding tank. In South Australia’s mid-north there are many towns whithering away. Once centres for the surrounding farmlands, they are now bypassed for the larger regional centres and cities. / The only thing that passes through here now is the breeze, as it blows through theweeds and native flowers, now permanent features of a once proud railway station and platform. / Manoora – situated between Saddleworth and Burra Canon 300D / Sigma 18-200mm OS

My current passion is an alternative photographic process called Polaroid transfers. Each transfer is hand-made by the photographer using specific materials and equipment to achieve a desired effect. A transparency is projected on to professional Polaroid print film and as development begins, the print and chemicals are prematurely separated. The image is transferred on to dampened watercolor paper for a unique image which has a dated, artistic photo-painting appearance. Exposure, pressure, time, paper and other variables make each print an original mono-print. My most recent series of Polaroid transfers is titled , “X-RAY TERRESTRIALS”. Double exposed slides of skulls from animals , coupled with illustrations of dental training transparencies culled from a recent St. Louis dumpster dive, yield macabre transmogrification from bone to alien. At. First glance, these small Polaroid transfers seem to portray a menagerie of grotesque creatures, which evoke responses of discomfort and disgust. By depicting the deformed and macabre, Linders illuminates the darkest corners of the mind and reveals her fascination with death, bones, skulls and teeth.

Made by Boulton & Watt in 1812. / This is a Polaroid image transfer. Transfered onto note pad paper. / I ran out of watercolour paper at the time. The image was taken with a Polaroid Land 350. This steam engine which still works and demonstrated at times, is in the Power House Museum in Sydney.
