A tranquil snow-fed stream near Thredbo, in the Australian Alps.
A Tranquil Evening The world seemed to almost totally stop when I took this, it was a hot evening, I was sweating just about to die, but for a moment, life seemed suspended, all the hustle and bustle disappeared, and the sky went fantastic, as if the Lord above painted something which had never been seen before. For an instant, tranquility, for an instant, serenity, for an instant, the light was to die for. Look closely, take it all in, and you may notice the distant red traffic lights. The building on the left is the old boat house at Washington Park where this was shot at, built around the turn on the century 1900. These days it serves as a place for concerts for classical music, Scottish Bagpipes, and similar sorts of sounds. Examine it close and just take a deep breath. Seascape shot at Hervey Bay, Queensland
Light from the setting sun plays on the water between looping stilt roots of the red mangrove: high tide in the mangrove forest, Orpheus Island, northern Australia.

~ Twin Falls ~ Trail head at Camp Orr in the Buffalo River National Wilderness Area, Arkansas Usa. / The beautiful picturesque Twin Falls now has an added beauty right beside it due to all the rain we have had in the last month. Shot this photo in the pouring rain, using my uni pod, and with my camera on auto, and of course the umbrella was a must! LOL! It was quite the challenge steadying the camera, juggling the umbrella, all the while with the lightning flashing, and the forest canape swirling in the strong winds of the storm, which caused tornadoes in many surrounding areas. By the time I finished this shoot I was soaked to the bone, but this shot and the many others I shot were all worth every moment. BUT MY CAMERA REMAINED DRY!!!!!! / I am real happy with the silky water, as I have no means to set my camera for timed shots. /
The Lake of Menteith (in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park) on a misty, moisty, frosty morning in winter. The Lake is one of the only two bodies of open water in Scotland to be called a Lake rather than a Loch. This, I’m told, derives from the word “Laigh” .. meaning “Low”. Very occasionally, the Lake freezes over completely and, on such occasions, is used as the location for “The Bonspiel”: the famous curling match between the North of Scotland and the South of Scotland. The last Bonspiel was held in 1979 when the ice was 10” thick and a thousand competitors took part. No HDR; no tone-mapping; colour overlay; Canon EOS 450D + 17-85mm zoom;
Oil on Canvas, 61.0cm x 122.3cm I love the way the light falls on the dunes, anywhere in our great land
A favorite place to sit, and reflect, just to relax for a while, and take in its peacefulness. / For a time, escaping from the hustle, and bustle life seems to keep us in. / I find myself wondering just what was the garden of eden really like? / After leaving here, I feel I have had a small glimpse…......... / / /
