Here is Tram number 196 that I photographed on Tuesday (10th June) at Beamish Open Air Museum The Beamish tramway fulfils a dual function – it provides a transport system and also gives visitors a period tramride experience. The fleet of trams consists of several carefully restored trams most of which date from the early years of the century. The tramway runs in a circle for over a mile with tramstops in The Town and near the other main areas of the Museum. / During the summer season a replica bus carries visitors between The Town and The Colliery Village. It is a copy of a double-deck bus owned by Gateshead Tramways in 1913. / Horse-drawn buses and charabancs were once a common sight and during the summer, visitors can often ride over part of the site in one of two charabancs.

I wished my 350D had see-through capability. Now the mountains that beseige this spectacular city make this shot look like it’s in a bowl. It costed us HKD15 to get on the platform to get this view. I would rather have a donkey that takes me there than a horse that will not fare Portuguese quote Folks, this is Tram 28 in Lisbon. A ride with it is a must do thing! / The ride can be crowded. It is a steep climb but interesting ride through narrow and old streets up to the top of the hill crowned by the St. George castle. The hill is made easy by Tram #28. Have a nice view over the town, check out the St. George castle, and then walk down and enjoy some other sights on the way down like the old Se (Cathedral) that looks like a fortress near the bottom. Then it’s only a short walk to the center of town. You have to mingle with real Portuguese people, but don’t you dare miss it. / One ride and you’ll have a magical memory to take away with you. I got here a little earlier than most times and there were som shoppers going to catch trains or trams. The traffic on the road was a little more than usual showing how the trams are restricted to the centre of the road with only two lanes of traffic passing between them and the footpath
