“The Met”, formerly known as The Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Public Transport Corporation respectively, was the government agency responsible for operating trams, trains and buses in the Australian city of Melbourne from 1983 until 1999. MetRail was the division which operated the suburban railway network in Melbourne. The first appearance of this “flying wings” design was in 1983, and it prevailed until the early 1990’s. Perfect for the enthusiast or history buff. Sure to be a talking point. Note: This logo is reproduced here on the fair assumption that it is considered abandoned, as it represents an entity that was dissolved by an act of parliament, and which no longer exists.
