I went down to the Como Pleasure Grounds the other day. It’s funny how you can live almost right next to a place, and not realize how beautifull it is… This shot was taken under a beaurifull tree looking out towards the Train Bridge and the Marina. It is a 5xp HDR, pushing the limits a bit, but I think it gives the tree a real 3dimensional feel. Please also visit my website alexkess.com and my photoblog . Cheers, Alex

came across this today while out driving, was no sooner out the car that it started to rain, which turned out for the best as it probably looks better like this rather than bathed in sunshine. (Located in Warners Road, just off Geelong Ballan Road.) / /
This was taken from the footbridge over the Yarra River at Southbank in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, looking back north east toward Flinders Street train station. The sun was just starting to peek through the mornings thick fog, and appeared as a small, solid white disk through the lifting fog. Part of Melbourne’s skyline was also just beginning to show through. ~ / Browse Images by Category : Snow Landscape Nature Urban
This another shot from Cable Beach. I couldn’t decide whether I liked this better with the more vivid colour or the shot of the whole train. Can you help?
These are a collection of photos from the Kimberely in north west WA. This is a pretty remote but truly beautiful part of Australia. I hope you enjoy this.

Panic attacks are unexpected, isolated periods of intense anxiety, fear and distress that are associated with a range of somatic and cognitive symptoms. The onset of these episodes is usually sudden, and may have no apparent start. Although these episodes may appear accidental, they are considered to be a subset of an evolutionary comeback commonly referred to as fight or flight that happen out of context, flooding the body with hormones as particularly adrenalin, that aid in defending itself from harm. The panic attack is different from other forms of anxiety by its concentration and its unexpected, episodic nature. / Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is the term for an acute and continuing emotional reaction to an excessive psychological trauma. The latter may involve someone’s real death or a threat to the patient’s or someone else’s life, serious physical injury, or threat to physical and/or psychological uprightness. It is important to make a difference between PTSD and Traumatic stress, which is an alike condition, but of less intensity and length. Hysteria was also related to “traumatic reminiscences” a century ago. At that time, Sigmund Freud’s pupil, Kardiner, was the first to portray what later became known as symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Stress is often defined as the reaction to a situation that threatens the balance or homeostasis of a system.

One of which is the train bridge shown here. I traipsed across the river one afternoon just before sunset and captured this image from the Indiana side of the river at just the right moment to have the red and orange glow of the sunset radiate throughout the photo. I had no idea that a train would be crossing right at that time, but it certainly made for a nice addition! I love ships of all kinds, but especially sailing ships. This is the German barque “Gorch Fock” at the entrance to Halifax Harbour, Nova Scotia, during the Tall Ships Festival in July, 2007. Taken with a Sony DSCF828 camera. The ship is a training vessel for the German Navy and does extensive cruises worldwide. This is one of our bridges and many many people jump into the fraser River. There has been so so many times on a monday morning where they have had to close down the bridge because there has been a jumper. :o( This bridge is so very old and they are constantly repairing it. It is also very conjested. I have been hearing that they will be building a new bridge. / / / /

Taking shots of the Railway Bridge crossing the mighty River Murray at Murray Bridge South Australia. Thanks to Dave Hartley from the Mannum Motel who went with me on the night and helped me get this shot. For a better image with a wide angle lens see his image. Interesting outcome here with a slight hint of flow on the river and the yellow feel created by tungsten lighting off the nearby bridge. No moon helped create the reflective image which is rarely seen like this. My apologies to everyone who has been visiting recently and leaving comments, I have been away on holidays and with work for over three weeks now so will try and catch up on all of your images soon. Prefer not to tell people I’ll be away as you never know who’s out here on RB so often you will not hear from me for some time when work is as busy as it is at the moment. This image shot with a Canon 400D – 17-85 lens.
