  • A boy waiting for a train to depart in Cochin, Kerala, India.

  • Agra Station. The lights kept going out but the natural light proved quite atmospheric. A longish exposure captured the moment. I manged to take quite a few images in this moment of darkness and light – and was swamped by the people around me who were fascinated at the instant image on the back of my digital camera… God I love India!

  • Shot at the trainstation in Aarhus, Denmark in January – a train was leaving the station, and as I walked up along the carts, I noticed this guy sitting there. I moved a couple of carts ahead, put the viewfinder to my eye, waited for him to get in the picture – and snap.

  • This is the shot you must take if you go to Broome… the camel train at sunset on Cable Beach. The tide was on the way out and the residual water gave great reflections. / Taken on Nikon D200 with 18-200mm Nikkor lens / Aperture F16 Speed 1/80s

  • This another shot from Cable Beach. I couldn’t decide whether I liked this better with the more vivid colour or the shot of the whole train. Can you help?

  • This image came about in an awesome way for me. Two weeks earlier, the model, Margrit, was telling me a bit about her life. She’s lived and travelled in many countries and taken lots of opportunities. She has also achieved great success with her photography. Several weeks later, I had an unusual chance to photograph her in an old train – the perfect location to reflect her life’s journey. / In Australia, Margrit has achieved her LAPS and AAPS, and is the only West Australian women to received international photographic honours AFIAP. She’s a perfectionist and it shines through in her work. • Ever felt the heavy heart of saying goodbye? In love, in life, in death. Family, lovers, friends. An empty track and sad, sad heart. Whiteman Park, Swan Valley, Perth. When I found this little station, I found myself thinking of the work of two photographers: Don, an awesome photographer who loves trains! He does wonderful landscapes and other great work. He’s given me so much help over the past few years – a generous soul with a great eye for photography. Paul Louis Villani also leapt into my head. He has some incredible images of trains and train stations. While I wouldn’t even attempt to immitate his style, his work gives me so much inspiration, and got me thinking about how I would like to present this scene. My fav image of his is Still standing For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail
