  • This Is The Print Version Of My Work Acrylic on canvas The first painting in the series is a key Unlock Your Destiny it is symbolic of unlocking your destiny. The door in this series is symbolic of your future. I saw this piece in a dream and made it a reality. It speaks to me of where you must go and what lies ahead if you have the key to it… The French words painted in the background translate: You Will Go Very Far. Both works have been juried into fine art shows here in the NW. • My painting was featured in the Fine Arts group / (Thanks everyone!) Acrylic on Glass This is the third addition to my series “Journey Through Africa”, the other three include an African tree in a field, a giraffe in it’s habitat and a poison dart frog. This piece is of one of my favorite African birds, a Red Bishop. It’s colors and shape really attracted me to it in creating this work. / This piece like the other two in the series was also painted on an antique mirror. I take something old and forgotten and create something new, yet try to keep the aged or classic feel throughout the piece. / I really love the scroll work of these interesting mirrors teamed with an African theme. Usually just looking at a prospective mirror I see what I will paint next in it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did in creating it! / I am currently working on another new piece in this series… Here are the other works in the series and framed: / / / You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /

  • The Unveiling of Coy Kiss
    by Carrie Glenn

I am proud to unveil my new painting titled Coy Kiss / I have been working on this over the last several months and have finally finished it as of last night. There are many layers and texture. This painting literally changes and comes alive in different lighting. I used acrylic and some other mediums to slow the drying process. After it was done I finished the water in my painting with gloss varnish in certain areas to achieve water highlights…so it actually appears like the water is real…and that perhaps that there is even movement in it. This is a special piece to me, there is a lot of symbolism and beauty in Koi fish to me. Also I am drawn to fish in general and life in water. / The bright contrasting colors and dead space of this work is what attracted me to it in the first place. I want to say a special “Thank You” to Rebecca Cruz who let me paint her photo titled Koi As I was creating the name for it, the play on words for “Coy” just kept coming to my heart. Thus “Coy Kiss”! / There is a written work from Venus and Adonis by William Shakespeare, that I chose to describe my work. I feel it perfectly captures my heart for this piece and the moment… ...”Never did passenger in summer’s heat / More thirst for drink than she for this good turn. / Her help she sees, but help she cannot get; / She bathes in water, yet her fire must burn: / ‘O! pity,’ ‘gan she cry, ‘flint-hearted boy: / ‘Tis but a kiss I beg; why art thou coy?”... It was a wonderful piece to work on and I put a lot of myself into it…hopefully you can feel that coming through to you. / To check it out and leave a comment click here Enjoy! xoxo

I am proud to unveil a new painting from my studio entitled, “Segawa Kikunjojo II”. (Dancing The Part Of Yamauba) My painting is styled after ancient (1760 era) Japanese Graphic art, by artists like Tori Kiyomitsu Ga and Eshi Tori Kiyomasu Hitsu and based on paintings like, The Autumn Moon Above Ishi Mountain and Segawa Kikunojo II, Dancing the Part of Yamuba. / This is the first in my study paintings of ancient Japanese artwork. It was a very intense and rewarding piece to work on. Every line and brush stroke needed to be calculated and yet also flow with an ease and grace. This is my first original painting in a series of many I intend to delve into over the next year. / I am very drawn to Japanese art and grew up with traditional Japanese artwork in my home. The beauty of this type of art has always captured me, as I hope my work will for you as well. Here are some photos of my art as it is being created and completed…enjoy! xoxo

  • (Series 2 of 2) / Acrylic on canvas, (with gloss water highlights) 24”x36”. Available, $2400 There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story. - Linda Hogan / CarrieGlennStudios.Com

  • Helvetica was developed in 1957 by Max Miedinger with Eduard Hoffmann at the Haas’sche Schriftgiesserei (Haas type foundry) of Münchenstein, Switzerland. Haas set out to design a new sans-serif typeface that could compete with Akzidenz-Grotesk in the Swiss market. Originally called Die Neue Haas Grotesk, it was created based on Schelter-Grotesk. The aim of the new design was to create a neutral typeface that had great clarity, had no intrinsic meaning in its form, and could be used on a wide variety of signage.
