This piece is based on how much we base our decisions off of love. Not condemning it, but rather it intrigues me what those will do in the name of love. Many people have died for love, have fought for love, and have sacrificed for love. It’s a powerful feeling that enslaves us, causing us to react in ways we may not deem normal in a clear state of mind, but like they say, Love is intoxicating. 2nd traditional piece I’ve ever attempted with acrylics. It was (key word, was, because it was sold lol)a 18×24 inch stretched canvas with acrylics and india ink. I miss this piece dearly, but at least I have a wonderful jpeg of it’s remains.
This is the continuation of my Judaica series. According to Jewish tradition, the Sabbath starts on Friday evening. The woman of the house ushers it in by lighting two Sabbath candles and saying a blessing over them. This is a multi-award winning painting. Acrylic on canvas 24×36 inches
http://www.zazzle.com/andreacreations / pencil drawing scanned and edited (digital collage, digital painting, filters and effects) in photoshop cs2. this piece was inspired in the mail between a man and a woman and specially in the letter she sent back to him, burning in passion, in reply to his letter to her, in which he proposes to her and writes about his love. / it’s a letter full of love, devotion, passion and desire and it can be partially seen in the art a thousand kisses deep
The Sturt Desert Pea is a beautiful wild flower that grows in outback Australia. The Original painting has sold, but not without a story. I had some people come into my gallery saying that they were wanting a painting of Sturt Desert Peas. They said they couldn’t find one anywhere in Broken Hill. My husband kindly offered for me to paint them one. They said they were leaving town in two days and could I have it finished by then? My husband said ””””not a problem”””” – he is a great beleiver. I was not so convinced, but I said I would try. I worked all evening, all the next day and evening until I was satisfied and pleased with the painting. They were due to pick the painting up the next morning. They never came back. Lesson learned: When it comes to Art people are fickle. Always get a deposit and don’t trust their enthusiasm. Always try and do the right thing by others, but don’t expect others to do the right thing by you. Getting angry at others letting you down isn’t worth the energy. / Whoever buys this print, please remember that rich beauty can come out of trying circumstances. The Sturt Desert Pea is a living example – immense beauty growing in the harshest environment. It started out in West Asia (perhaps the Persia-Armenia region) and in two varietals from which all cultivated cherries are descended: Prunus avium (sweet) and Prunus cerasus (sour). Sweet cherries had spread to Ancient Greece and the Mediterranean by 300 BCE, for Theophrastus mentions them. And Pliny the Elder (1st century AD) mentions that some 8 varieties of cherries were being cultivated in Italy—and that the Romans were spreading them as far north as Britain. The British, in turn, carried it to the New World in the 17th century (Beyond the huge crops in Michigan, California, Oregon, and Washington, American wild cherries include the chokecherry, the pin cherry, and the wild black cherry. Sour cherries have spread even farther north, and are a speciality of Germany and Scandanavia. Today it is estimated that some 900 sweet varieties (ranging in color from yellow to black) and some 300 sour varieties are being grown. Most sweet cherries will produce fruit only after they’ve been cross-pollinated—honey bees usually do the leg work, carrying pollen from a sweet cherry of another variety soupsong.com See some samples of the collection below, and view the entire collection to date, at the Bubblesite HERE / Plum Blossom with Apples and Cream / / Sour Cream Bumbleberry Tart with an Apricot Glaze / / Ginger Shortcake with Nectarines and Creme Fraiche / / Spicy Chewy Ginger Cookies / / Chocolate Cupcake with a Mocha Swirl / / Cinnamon Bun / / Scone with Berries and Cream / / Lemon curd and Blueberry Tart

/ __________________ Traditional painting, 24×30 cm / Acrylics, gouache & watercolours on canvas board. / Creation Date: 13.07.2009 A gift for my dear ZOMBIE and the GRINDHOUSE group. Captain Spaulding is a fictional character created by Rob Zombie and portrayed by Sid Haig in the films House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects Captain Spaulding was born on April 13, 1918 in Ruggsville, Texas with the name Johnny Lee Johns. He spent a small part of his childhood in the Ruggsville County home for orphaned boys until being adopted by a black family. Johnny Lee would soon grow very close to his adoptive brother Charlie. Johnny Lee developed an interest in sideshow deformities and violent crime photography, foreshadowing his Captain Spaulding persona. He began his murder spree as Mr. Ding Dong a Bo-Bo using his clown character’s name. Charlie would refer to him as Cutter after Johnny Lee stabbed a man to death, which he would take as his name. Around the fall of 1947, Cutter met Mother Firefly, who at the time took the alias Eve Wilson. She already had two children of her own, Rufus and Tiny. Cutter lived with Eve Wilson, even raising their daughter Vera Ellen together. During the summer of 1965, Otis B. Driftwood, wandered into Ruggsville County. He and Otis quickly became close companions and rivals. The two would often fight for control of the family. Otis was asked to live with the family; whom Otis called The Fireflys and it was he who also nicknamed Cutter, Captain Spaulding.
