Featured in the I Love Birds group 24th April 2009 My neighbour came running on a wet very windy day to say a baby Galah had fallen from the sky … this is he. The parents were flying round frantically with a crow sitting nearby on a tree stump. He would not have survived. I took him in & fed him parrot baby mix, got him warm & dry :D Thank you for looking.

Walking to Polperro along the coastline, thought this so pretty knowing when I passed through it I would be nearly there and see the sea!. Though I live in Australia now a big part of me remains in Cornwall where I dream of returning one day. When sheep or cattle are being moved on the roadside to another part of the property it’s know as ‘the long paddock’. This was taken on the road to Cookamidgera, rural NSW. The curiosity of the lambs ensured a quick capture! Thank you for looking.

This was once a school. ‘Waugan School’ My dear friend and neighbour Arthur used to attend there as a boy. It closed in 1943 & held 10 pupils maximum. On closer inspection it is occupied today. You can see the dweller on the chimney, a ‘Willy Wagtail’ who wasn’t at all keen on me being at his home! Lachlan Valley, rural NSW Thank you for looking.

Last glimpse of the setting sun. Coolangatta, Queensland. Dedictated with love to my sister Sharon Finlay who we lost at only age 42 to breast cancer 2 weeks before this capture. To be sent an image so beautiful at such a time of despair was and is inspiring for those of us who are left to carry on. Happiest by the ocean. Trees do move in wind and over great periods of time grow, if you watch very closely …. I prefer the rolling visual living movement & sound of the ocean. You know you are alive, ebbing & flowing. NSW coastline, Mullaway.

Here is King Arthur, one of my flock who for those that don’t know is a King Parrot. I have finally received my new lens & thought I’d christen it on him! King parrots (Alisterus scapularis) are usually seen in pairs or small parties feeding among the outermost branches of forest trees, especially eucalypts and acacias. They eat seeds, berries, other fruits, nuts, nectar, blossoms and leaf buds, which they find mainly in trees, but they also come to the ground to pick up fallen seeds. / / The male is suited in crimson and green with blue striping on the wing coverts. In flight you can also see the blue under the wings.The female does not have the scarlet head and chest of the male but displays the same scarlet belly and lower breast as the male. He came with a purpose / His Love Divine / Saved souls / Yours and mine / His love like a sweet fragrance / That flows in the day / Of roses and lilacs / Coming our way / His strength was like an Oak / A huge standing tree / His love so powerful / For you and me / He grew into a man / Reminding us all / That the Father was watching / He had to answer His call / Punished and beaten / At only thirty-three / Hung on a Cross / How can that be? / A thorn of crowns / Put on his head / Blood running down his face / And he still said / He forgave all the evil / That brought him to that place / The pain showed / In Sweet Jesus’ face / When I think of this / My heart skips a beat / Thinking of the nails / In His hands and His feet / Suffering and dying / For our sins / I still don’t fully understand / How this could have been / Didn’t his captors / See the grace in His eyes / Sweet Jesus sacrified all / For our sins and our lies / When I think of this picture / I really wish / That I was there / To have given Sweet Jesus a Kiss / LOVE DIVINE You have a big heart Sally & it’s made of pure gold! This was captured in the Elephant enclosure at Dubbo Zoo … well I know of course it’s not an Elephant lol he is giving me the evil eye though! Small in size BIG in attitude! Thanks to fellow bubbler Phil for the valuable info and what type of bird this little fella is! Please check out Phil’s awesome work Here White plumed Honeyeater Size: 17cm Habitat: Distributed across Australia’s inland regions, through out VIC and most of NSW, the White plumed Honeyeater inhabits open forests, usually near water. Diet consists of insects and nectar. Notes: Olive/lemon coloured bird with dark eye and yellow face. White stripe on side of neck with grey line across top. Breeds Winter-Spring-Summer.
