  • This shot was taken in Copacabana in 2006, a little town in the north of Bolivia, situated on the bank of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world at 3800 mts. / There was a big celebration in town that day and so much to see and discover. But I was so tired that I decided to sit down and rest for a while when those two men sat just in front of me. I took so many pictures of them but this one is my favorite. Click /

  • On Main Street in Lexington sits the Southern Inn. This painting depicts the building as it is familiar to those of us who live about; bathed in the light of a bright autumn day. The sun’s light cast strong shadows across the buildings facade and the only working neon sign in town. As it flows across awnings and to the street, it accents a small pile of fallen leaves in the gutter; a seasonal cherry on the visual sundae. Acrylic on panel

  • Evening street scene in Coffs Harbour city centre. Canon A460, 5MP. Another way to work with a limited resolution is to mask the fact by using a derivative treatment. Here, I’ve reduced the image to pure BW in Paint Shop Pro. There are several options for getting to a BW final image, including: greyscale, brightness & contrast, decrease colour depth, channel mixer, etc. In this case, I’ve used the reduce to 2 colours method (within which there are several more options). / / .......................................................................................... / Image Copyright Duncan Waldron © 2008 / This image may not be reproduced without permission / .......................................................................................... / /

  • My new found love in photography is mixing layers and layers of images. I have already had some wonderful finds of layered work in reflections but this kind of editing brings it to a whole other level. Finding what works well with another image is a challenge. But one that I enjoy very much. I have learned the in’s and out’s of working with layers by trial and error. If you’re thinking of giving this a try, I hope you will give your self time and not worry about the failures. The result is so worth the frustration of figuring it all out!! / / WOW, THANK YOU FOR THE HOME PAGE FEATURE!!! /
