Taken while on a guided photography tour of London, these great street is just near Tower Bridge. I believe these area used to be the old docks for loading and unloading the boats, but is now more residential and I’d say pretty pricey.

At the southern end of Five Mile Beach in the Northern Wilderness area of Wilsons Promontory is a seldom visited gem called Freshwater Lake. The Lake is formed at the bottom end of a huge swamp created from the runoff of the Roundback and Vereker Ranges. To get here I had just spent seven hours traversing around the rocky coastal fringe of the Cathedral. I was exhausted and so focused on cooking my dinner at the time that I almost missed this sight. Fortunately I did look behind me and was staggered at the colour of the sky which, minutes before, had been so grey and bland. Immediately I envisioned catching the sky in the still lake which was close by. Upon reaching the lake so taken aback was I from the reflection and the perfect touch of ducks sitting in the middle of it that I audibly sighed disturbing the ducks and ruining the reflection. Fortunately the water stilled again before the light was gone but alas no ducks. For more shots from this area check out my Wilsons Promontory gallery. This original acrylic painting is a part of “The Dream Tour Series”. I want to show the beauty of high quality waves at their perfection. This series is made of the surfing locations around the globe-professional surfers tour each year in pursuit of the world championship. Teahupo’o is a notoriously perfect machine like wave with a razor sharp, living reef bottom. My intention was to show how much water is hurled out past its ocean swell and forms a glass ceiling that finally explodes violently around, and hopefully behind the surfer who dares. Please visit www.clarkssurfarthawaii.com for more imagery. Look out for more Dream Tour Series locations in RedBubble as they become available. I have six originals of eleven locations and three scans as of 2-10-08.

Mmmmmmm, salt….. / Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni – one of the more surreal cycling experiences. There’s about 5000 square kilometers of this stuff. The only regret I have about this trip was that I didn’t try to ride clean across it – a two day effort by all accounts. Maybe next time.
This photo was taken in 2007 at Karnak temple (Egypt. Africa). The Karnak temple complex, universally known only as Karnak, describes a vast conglomeration of ruined temples, chapels, pylons and other buildings. It is located near Luxor in Egypt. This was ancient Egyptian Ipet-isut (“The Most Selected of Places”), the main place of worship of the Theban Triad with Amun as its head, in the monumental city of Thebes. The complex retrieves its current name from the nearby and partly surrounding modern village of el-Karnak, some 2.5km north of Luxor. / The complex is a vast open-air museum and the largest ancient religious site in the world. It is probably the second most visited historical site in Egypt, second only to the Giza Pyramids near Cairo. It consists of four main parts (precincts) of which only one is accessible for tourists and the general public. This is the Precinct of Amun-Re, and this it is also the main part of the complex and by far the largest part. The term Karnak is often understood as being the Precinct of Amun-Re only, as this is the only part most visitors normally see. The three other parts, the Precinct of Montu, the Precinct of Mut and the Temple of Amenhotep IV (dismantled), are closed to the public. There also are a few smaller temples and sanctuaries located outside the enclosing walls of the four main parts, as well as several avenues of human and ram-headed sphinxes connecting the Precinct of Mut, the Precinct of Amon-Re, and Luxor Temple. / The key difference between Karnak and most of the other temples and sites in Egypt is the length of time over which it was developed and used. Construction work began in the 16th century BC. Approximately thirty pharaohs contributed to the buildings, enabling it to reach a size, complexity, and diversity not seen elsewhere. Few of the individual features of Karnak are unique, but the size and number of features are overwhelming.
