Taken just before leaving Phillip Island over the Easter break in April 2009. Sunset wasn’t to bad but just as I had ran over from the rocks around the corner I missed the best of the colour by around a minute. This is the S.S. Speke shipwreck at Kitty Miller Bay, Phillip Island. I woke up early to come see the sunrise here on Saturday morning but the whole sky was overcast, there was no colour at all and the tide was way too far out. I ventured back on Easter Sunday and thought it might look good with the afternoon light so I put on every filter I owned to try and get a long exposure. Taken with my Canon 40D and Cokin P-series filters. Two ND4s and a polarising filter to bring out that colour. Remains of a pier at Cat Bay, on the North West side of Phillip Island not to far from the famous Nobbies and Penguin Parades. I thought this spot would be best at high tide which unforunately fell in the middle of the afternoon but thankfully some sun rays started to burst through the clouds over head creating a nice picture, and yes I got very wet feet. Taken with my Canon 40D with polarising, Grad and ND filters to lengthen exposure. Places shown include famous landmarks such as the Nobbies, Cowes jetty, Pinnacles at Cape Woolamai and S.S. Speke shipwreck just to name a few.
