The Trevi fountain, an expected stop for any tourist in the eternal city of Rome. I’ve read many different variations on the numbers of coins and what they mean, but the one thing in common is that a coin in the fountain assures your return to this ancient city. Customs aside, the fountain is truly amazing in its size relative to the tiny piazza that it’s jammed into. Even in the midst of winter, it was crowded with people. I would love to go back here sometime with one of my wider angle lenses added to the tool kit since my last trip to Italy. Fear not, I tossed in my coins.

We met his girl while touring Cambodia by bike. We’d seen her and her friends walking home from school and they’d made a huge deal of waving, dancing and calling out ‘Hello’ to us as we rode past. Somehow, when we reached the next town, there she was, beaming and ready to show her little brother off to us! The little one didn’t say much, but the girl had quite a grasp on the language- we got through Hello, Where are you From and “what is your name” to which she replied….Like you Australia say “No”....Naaaaaaaaaaah.
