Rosenborg Slot is a little castle in Copenhagen, Denmark, built of red bricks in Dutch Renaissance style. King Christian IV himself took part in its design and once the castle was finished, he used it as his summer house. Today, the Rosenborg Slot houses the Danish crown jewels. September 2007. This is one of the last painting I will do while living in Broken Hill. It is a commissioned work and I am very pleased with it. Broken Hill – well I thought it was extremely ugly when we first arrived. But now I see the heritage, the blood sweat and tears of hard labour, the tough men and women of the outback and the outrageous courage of the people who live there now. The colours and textures are fascinating and the sky is magic. I have fallen in love this pile of rubble the locals affectionately call “The Line of Lode” and the Silver City – Broken Hill.

Taken just near Grossard Point at Ventnor, Phillip Island, Australia. My extended family use to have a house just minutes from here and we used to always walk along this part of the rocks. I always loved the red rocks in this area and wasn’t at all disappointed when I came back to get a couple of photos of them. Looking out from one of the boardwalks towards Seal Rocks, The Nobbies and the blowhole in the bottom right hand corner of the image. Light conditions were less than ideal but I just had to make do. There were so many kids jumping and running along the boardwalk which made it pretty hard to get a still shot. When walking back to the car we saw a penguin hiding under one of the boardwalks, don’t think I’ve ever been so excited in all my life! The revolving door entrance into St Paul’s cathedral may be a modern necessity, but all who enter face this sign to recall them to the purpose and intent of this wonderful building ~ more than a mere tourist attraction but a holy place of worship. / One of the highlights of our travels through England and a tiny taste of Scotland, was to attend a Sunday morning service at the Cathedral. No tourist event this as hundreds came to worship; to find or rediscover the meaning of this iconic Christian church.
