Just booked a flight departing 2nd August from PERTH to Singapore on Tiger, which cost me AUD$163 (all inclusive/tax/20kg luggage, booking fee) one way. Never been to Perth before, so now looking for cheeeeeap flight to Perth leaving end of July, so that i can have a couple days there (3 nights max) maybe meeting online friends (hint, hint) or just backpacking and doing tourist things..like taking photos. Once i get to Singapore, i will stay here for couple of days (backpackers is my budget) and then head to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – where my mum is going to be (she lives in UK, and flying in for family gathering) for the next few weeks.. This is an unplanned trip, but thought since my mum is pretty close..and fares are cheap..id have a mid year adventure and do the tourist persona at the place of my birth (penang) and childhood (kuala lumpur, penang, singapore) and of course to see (and photograph!!!!!!) as an adult, australian.. and ohh.. not forgetting..as a RedBubbler :D Im welcoming Photo tips, places must go, activities and anything and everything. Meetups with other RedBubblers – in Perth, Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Penang) for the approx 3 weeks space time from 30th July to 21 August 2009 D I S CU S S | THOUGHTS? | AD V I C E

So I went to Tasmania for 2 weeks in a campervan with the boyfriend – saw some awesome sights and have a few here that are more for the “album” than RB. Would definitely recommend getting to Tassie at some stage, dont be put off by the cold weather!! Port Arthur / Bicheno – the first few were taken at sunrise and are in camera (no saturation of colour) Binnalong Bay – pure white sand NOT snow St Columba Falls Launceston Cradle Mountain – not what you are expecting! Strahan Sorry there are so many – hope you like them Now to start planning the next trip….thinking Cambodia or Vietnam

The Port Campbell National Park on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia has features which are visited by people from all over the world. Last week, I had the pleasure to meet and chat with photographers from Pennsylvania, USA and Canada at the world-famous Twelve Apostles. They were amazed at our glorious coastline and were keen to find out some of the hidden gems in this area to photograph. Unfortunately, one of the best places to photograph in this area is temporarily closed. Gibson’s Beach is not accessible to visitors due to the closure of Gibson’s Steps, which lead down to the beach. Large areas of ground at the clifftop are covered in hessian to stop erosion. We may never be able to access this beach again. It was one of the very few locations along this weather-beaten coastline which allowed access to the beach. Fortunately, Loch Ard Gorge is still accessible. The area is extremely fragile, and there’s now talk that the Twelve Apostles Boardwalk may cost visitors a fee to access in the near future. I have a calendar for sale which contains features of this region which may interest you. Enjoy. Cheers, / Darren Stones.
