Miura calendar Taken on my last day of work during my intership in Hayama: Japan on August 8th, 2007. The office threw me a farewell dinner party at Hayama Isshiki beach, as we watched the sunset with Mt. Fuji and Enoshima in the distance. Mt. Fuji’s exceptionally symmetrical cone is a well-known symbol of Japan. check out the series here Also available at Zazzle

Scanning old negatives from my archive, I have found a photograph of Cinque Torri (Five Towers) and Tofanas taken very late in the afternoon. I liked the combination of dark clouds and remaining summer haze that made the background looking very flat like in a painting. Just before clouds covered the sun completely, last rays fell on the Cinque Torri, a group of rocks very popular by climbers. To complete the feeling I had about the picture, I’ve applied ‘colored pencils’ filter in post-processing of this photograph. Dolomiti, Italy. August 2001. Canon EOS 500N, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, sharpening, colored pencils, color enhancement, blend modes. Detail of the image showing the ‘color pencils’ effect:
Taken at Rottrest Island – Western Australia. This pelican was airing his wings standing on a post like the one in the image. Was lucky enough to be in position after almost running 200m to reach the spot where his enormous span could be seen. On cue he took off and this is the result.
This Koala had obviously had enough traveling, so decided to stop and sit in the middle of the road to Lake Elizabeth, in the Great Otway National Park. Fortunately it is not a very busy road and It did move on eventually.
This one was taken at popular surfing spot Cat Bay on the North West coast of Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia. Got here with the hope of getting some nice long exposures of the high tide coming in and then the clouds opened up… Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens as well as poalrising, graduated and ND filters. Taken at The Pinnacles @ Cape Woolamai, Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. I loved how the colour of this rock was different to all those around it. I took many shots of the one rock but think I liked this one the best. I really loved this place and cannot wait to get myself back there, there’s so many different angles this place can be captured from and I want to find them all! Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens. 4 seconds @ f14, ISO 100. One of the photos in my Phillip Island series, please click here to see the rest of my images in the series
