I like this photograph not only because its a nice view but I particularly like the people dotted around the picture. For me anyway it says something about the human face of Venice. The delicate balance between water and land.. in that order. I expected Venice to be strictly for the tourists these days but I was surprised to find Venice very much a human city full of activity. If you ring a builder.. he arrives by boat. If you want to see a game of football you have to go by boat.
