YES I CAN TOUCH MY NOUSE :)
My five year old daughter found this butterfly at Powlett River when we were there a few weeks ago at the bubble get together. We found this friendly little fella in the toilets where Zahra picked it up. It then spent ten minutes on her finger before it finally flew off. For other shots from this area check out my Bass Coast gallery. 10% of all profits go to the Wilderness Society
This is as simple as it gets, yet for that, perhaps the most difficult. Knowing when to stop is the essence, but what a buzz I got from painting it. It is very wet Paynes grey Acrylic on a 40” x 30” single primed canvas. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it. :-)

© C J Lewis Mixed media of photography and digital art created using Apophysis & PhotoPlus6 air-brush tool. JANUARY 2009 FEATURED IN Unconventional Artistry group AND Core (C.O.R.E) group AND Music Inspired Art (M.I.A) group This art is also included in the Digital Collection #2 2009 Calendar which you can see Here Based on a spiritual experience when 13yrs old. In a dream I was taken in spirit to the top chamber of a pyramid (above the Kings Chamber) where I was placed on an alter and a vibrant white light came shooting down from the heavens through a pin hole in the top of the pyramid and spread over and through me while at the same time lights shot out of me…then all went calm and I woke up. Coldplay To me, Touched By The hand Of God means many things. God being the name I choose to use for the greater source energy that is within all and that we can access through our conscious awareness of being by which we can then connect to all creativity, transformation and knowledge for our life from within…the light that guides us by our conscious awareness of the gift of life we have been honoured to live. The light that guides from higher intelligence…to our intellect…our intuition…and gives us self control over the egoic mind, the old devil, that causes so much pain and sorrow not only in our personal life but also in this world. / MCN:C0793-EF08E-59B82
24” x 36” acrylic on canvas. Copyright Derek Shockey 2008. “Chained… I was hoping you’d remain / To this moment / Where our hearts speak ages / Not the cages moan / Hey… I was hoping you would stay / Long enough to try and fan the fire / Shed your wire gown / Golden rings just weigh you to the ground / And it’s not enough And it’s not enough… / But I live for the touch. / Starved… I was wishing I could carve / My name into your heart of wood / Dear… would it be clear now? / Wed to an image in my head / Is it true that you could bring me closer / To the dying sun? / The next assault may be the lucky one / And it’s not enough And it’s not enough … / But I live for the touch. / Plagued… by a dream where I’m enslaved / It’s a void that’s always left me wanting / Sleeps in haunting fields / Wait… tell me you believe in fate / Could it be that we are getting closer to the only one? / Golden rings will always weigh a ton / And it’s not enough And it’s not enough / But I live for the touch. / It’s not enough I live for the touch / Live for the touch / I live for the touch.” - Charles/ Bloedow 500.00 for original.
