Channel Billed Toucan – Copan, Honduras
Actually this Golden Pheasant was chasing peacocks… /
been reading about tribal child raising and the benefits, and we know I like birds… I began this art as abstract patterns, bubbles of pattern that transformed when I realised by putting a ‘fork in the road’ to the concentric circles, that I created an eye and beak. Before that, it could’ve been shown either way up. also, it transformed from earthy brown colours, to a colourful bird. ‘Is it art? ‘my teacher used to always question. He’s not here now. He’s just asking the question still! in my head! I like it-it’s bright, colouful and alive.

Señor Tuco is a Toucan who I met in Peru! It was love at first sight! Part of the reason for that was because on our first meeting, in our Hotel near Nazca, he flew into my eye! :o) Despite being a bit of a gannet (pardon the comparison) and begging for food at the breakfast table, Señor Tuco, as pictured here in what I think is a Pepper Tree, is a free spirit – a free bird! The fact that he lives in the barren coastal desert instead of the lush interior jungle, makes me think he may have fallen out of the nest and hit his head as a chick! :o)
Rainbow-Billed Toucan, displaying his colourful beak. Birdworld, Farnham, England. Also known as a Keel-Billed or Sulphur-Breasted Toucan. (Ain’t Wikipedia wonderful, eh!?) ;o)
Toucan
I consider this a painting, even as it was rendered with colored pencils. There are so many layers that to me, it is kind of like painting, but with velvety dry, instead of wet media. This piece is for sale. 40% from the sale of this original will be donated to The Philadelphia Mission. You can view their contact info. on my profile page. Please contact me for size and price, if interested.

An illustration for a logo – ‘Twocan’ creative graphic design and illustration.
This is a toucan, they are related to the woodpecker and are very noisy in the jungle. No one knows what the large bill is for, it is a mystery. Taken at Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa Florida “As Is” w/ Nikon D40 w/ 55-200mm lens.
I layered a panther,birds and butterflies into a rainforest background in photoshop CS3. /
I made this years ago in the beginning of my PhotoShop journey and for some reason deleted from my account. Its was published in Advanced Photoshop a few years back. Its my take on the Poe classic and I used a Toucan instead of a Raven cause thats how my warped imaganation works sometimes.

For a challenge in the group Fine Arts Influenced by Literature. The book this time is “Island” by Aldous Huxley. I chose the part where Will, one of the main characters, is talking about a period in his life, several years earlier, where he sees people as Maggots, calling them Phantom Maggots. The book was written in 1961, or 62, & as Will saw the Phantom Maggots before his marriage of 12 years, i went by the year 1955. Used an actual photo of a 1955 London double decker bus, changing some so as not to steal, hand drawn, 2B pencil, the Toucan is hand drawn, Prisma colored pencils
Caught this pretty bird sitting at the Feeding Station at a Zoo in Florida.
Hope you like it :-) / More sizes: http://www.vladstudio.com/wallpaper/?609
