  • Totem #1
    by Patricia Ariel

    US$4.16–US$95.00

Totem #1 is the first of a series of pieces that represent an animal attached to a human figure, like if they are part of the same body. They can also be animal totems, if you prefer. The Totems carry also a very simple concept: our deep attachment to Nature as one single thing. In those pieces, I intend to make the human head always black and white and naturalist, while the animal is colorful and filled with abstract shapes. watercolor and pencil on cold press watercolor paper / 12×8.5

  • INTUITION
    by tkrosevear

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Honoring intuition, using discernment, outsmarting deception and trusting first impressions are some of the ‘medicine’ traits of the OWL. / The ‘Medicine’ of TRUTH…like the invisible owls you hear at night, your awareness in the midst of blackness, perceives reality. In the night you find illumination. Oh yes, the night is dark, but the world is still real for those who see with their intuitive side. / My dear sister Judi, as you learn to trust your clairvoyant nature, you learn that truth flows through you, much the same way silent OWL glides through the night. Honor this ability to serve CREATION…. My husband came in from outside, quite giddy with this discovery – a Great Horned Owl in one of our many Pine Trees surrounding the ponds that he was cleaning debris from. What a gift to be able to photograph her in the daylight hours, besides seeing her after discussing the medicine of her truths. As is photograph taken 2/18/09. WindOwl Eyes of Truth

  • Bobcat
    by tkrosevear

    US$3.99–US$91.20

This is an as is shot from my NWTrek adventure last month. The bobcat is sometimes called the wildcat, it has a short bobbed tail from which it gets its name. It also has tufts of hair on its ears and sideburns and often confused with the lynx, which is usually grayer and always larger. It is a solitary animal, and those with it as a totem usually share the same situation. / They are the medicine of secrets and silence, an endangered species once found roaming all over the US. It makes his home under rocky ledges and in piles of rocks. Although not very fast, it can leap up to eight feet, its primary food source is rabbits and woodchucks. It can see very well in the dark, and its hearing is acute. If a bobcat has shown itself you should ask yourself these questions… / Are you being too solitary? / Do you need to look for a new learning opportunity? / Are you or those around you being indiscreet? / Are you not trusting your inner senses? / Are you allowing others’ outside appearances to sway you? Whenever bobcat is around, it will teach you that there is true power and strength through silence. SECRETS

  • Medicine Tree
    by tkrosevear

    US$3.99–US$91.20

This standing being once rooted deep in the Earth / the rivers’ waters ran high, uprooted her for rebirth A magical aura surrounds her form, in remains / as she respectfully identifies our humble domain At her base sits the medicine and strength of the Bear / whose introspective instinct fares none to compare Great Horned Owl, the largest of all night birds / guarding with discernment and outsmarting the absurd Enduring Elk supports our stamina and health / reminding us our persistence and hope brings wealth Our four-legged teachers, like the wise old wolf / taught us new paths and options, as the old were engulfed Secretive Bobcat, in her stillness, does silently watch / honoring mindfulness, with no dogma to debauch The great Buffalo reminds us scarcity is based upon fear / to be released and make way for abundance is made quite clear Atop the embodiment of Spirit, as the Eagle does soar / the freedom of oneness and connecting without keeping score Owl in the Moon oversees winds of ever-present change / whilst the realm of our ancestors broaden their range Clawed, winged, finned and even those who crawl / are akin upon Earth, as I avow never to intentionally maul As one score has passed, opening this brethrens’ door / to these medicine creatures, I gratefully accept much more than folklore. WindOwl 3/3/09 tkrosevear This photograph is of a tree downed in the rivers floods last year, that we brought to our entry and merged with photos of 7 creature teachers whom represent the four cardinal directions and above, below and within – the owl within the moon represents my spirit name and connection to them all. • This mandala is representative of the medicine of BEAR, which for Native American peoples, is considered (along with the wolf) as one of the last true symbols of the primal, natural world, and many ecologists believe that how humans respond and protect their lands and their future will be the most honest depiction of how serious humanity is about preservation of our environment and the natural resources within it. Also, the bear is considered kin to himans, because, like birds, it can stand and walk upon two legs. / Bear teaches us to go within and awaken the potentials inherent and bring them to the world and apply them. Introspection that makes accomplishing goals and dreams that we carry come to fruition. Becoming like BEAR and entering the safety of the womb-cave, we must attune ourselves to the energies of the Eternal Mother (Earth), and receive nourishment from the Great Void (unconscious/universe), where all solutions and answers live in harmony with the questions that fill our realities. / Each and every being has the capacity to quiet the mind, enter the silence and KNOW. / Bear resides in the West of the medicine wheel, symbolic of our intuitive/feminine side or right brain and to hibernate, bear travels within the four lobes where the pineal gland resides (lying just under the pituitary gland, behind the eyes, highly responsive to light waves)also resonating our Crown Chakra, the control center for the effective functioning of our physical, emotional and mental selves. / This also links us to our faith, attitudes, beliefs, values, conscious, courage and humanitarianism. This level and power abandons intellect and EGO to the power of passionate experience and “knowing”. / Bear medicine is ultimately knowing yourself ~ your body, mind and spirit ~ using your strengths to overcome your weaknesses, whilst knowing also that both are necessary in our evolution. Drawing photographed and edited, colored with wacom pen in photoshop 7 with redfield plug-in fractilius filter and coloring adjustments to finalize.

  • Matriarchal Moose
    by tkrosevear

    US$3.99–US$91.20

The medicine of Moose is primal feminine energy and the magic of life and death ~ a positive force representing a willingness to “Tell the World” about her feelings. Self~Esteem, the joyfulness that comes with accomplishment without the need for approval and the enjoyment of sharing that comes from the deepest part of one’s being is the wisdom of Moose. / Moose medicine people have the ability to know when to use the gentleness of Deer and when to activate the stampede of Buffalo, as they understand the balance between giving orders to get things done, along with the willingness to do things themselves. / So, if you have happened upon this photo and itmakes you feel good, you have probably accomplished something on your journey…broken a habit, completed a goal or task, or youhave a new sense of self that you have fought hard to earn. You should be feeling harmonious pride and recognize those who helped you attain your process and progress. This photograph was taken, as is, at an undisclosed location in Alaska, by my brother (who wishes to remain anonymous). Alison

  • This spiritual design by Skye, is a tribute to the sacredness of Wildlife and indeed, of all Life. A wild Crow flies before a sacred Totem Pole which depicts the symbolism of many animal forms including Man. (A different coloured version of this beautiful image is available, if warm sepias aren’t to your taste.) The background image for this work was taken shooting into the Sun in a dense fog. 25% of proceeds from the sale of this item are donated to Defenders of Wildlife at: www.defenders.org. / Thank you for caring.
