  • We feel very strongly about animal rights and the issue of fur and leather is no exception! Humans should wear their own skin – not the skins of animals. According to the HSUS website: / / “Each year over 50 million animals—including millions of dogs and cats—are killed for their fur worldwide. Although the fur industry does its best to keep the cruelty out of sight, suffering is a common ingredient in all methods of procuring fur, from fur factory farming to trapping. Many, perhaps more than half, of these animals are killed specifically for fur trim—it is not a by-product.” / / And it doesn’t end there. Check out the HSUS Fur-Free Campaign to find out how the fur industry is going out of its way to dupe you through false advertising, false labels and more. / / ALL proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society of the United States. / / Do you have a fur coat, hat or other fur items? Give them back! Donate your furs to Coats for Cubs! These donated furs help young wildlife in need, serving to help keep them warm and sometimes serving as surrogate mothers. It’s an amazing program! • Created for possible inclusion in a local band’s album art. Their concept was ‘The Torture Garden,’ something about the hidden beauty in death and pain, the duality of creation and destruction … or, something like that. This was the second of two pieces created for the project and, by far, the one I’m happiest with. Brush and ink, Charcoal (black and white), red permanent marker, black ultra-fine Sharpie on 9” X 12” charcoal paper.

  • This painting was created with interior house paint on canvas / H26” x W50” / Black Matte Gallery Frame / 2007 / Original – 1800.00 / ON SALE NOW! 1000.00 “Faceless,” is dedicated to all the woman and girls who suffer injustices all over the world, and remain faceless to world. Although I created this image in 2007, and had titled it “Girls,” I didn’t fully realize what it meant until just this week. In the news, a husband kills his wife, by placing a plastic bag over her head, hangs her, and flees with the three children after countless please for help to local authorities. A father is convicted of keeping his daughter locked up as a sex slave for 24 years. Daughter now 42. Many females are enslaved, murdered, raped, tortured all over the world, and many more will remain faceless to us. Stop, think, and listen.

  • The Angel of the North probably one of the most photographed works of public art in the north of England if not the country as a whole. I felt it required a fresh view and as Easter was fast approaching and the word Angel being Hebrew for messenger I thought an artistic take would be to re-create the crucifixion scene for a modern day audience. This is three images combined to make this scene.

  • Tortured was shot early one morning in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, Australia. The image is of the trunk of a rather large, old Moreton Bay Fig tree. A secret about the image is revealed in one of the comments.

  • For A Challenge in the group “Fine Arts Influenced by Literature”. From a very strange & interesting book called “Torture The Artist” by Joey Goebel. Hand drawn, pencil, 2B pencil, & a touch of colored pencil

  • Original illustration drawn freehand on sketchbook paper with black ballpoint pen & black drawing pen. / Coloured on photoshop. Just for fun. ;) I’m creepy like that.

  • The second of this pair of images in my venture into much more ‘blatant’ expression of the primary theme important in my work. These works are all based on different photos of myself, taken by myself. Thank you very much for viewing this work – again – the LARGE view will provide a much better appreciation of the depth of the textures in this work. Currently (7.11.09) 513 views. FEATURED IN ‘BEIGE IS DEATH’! FEATURED IN ‘DIGITAL ART COMPILATIONS’!

  • (VIEWING LARGE IS A MUST ON THIS ONE) I’m not out of my mind. That’s my problem. If I could get out of my mind, I would be fine! Out of my mind, / That’s where I need to be! / Inside my head / Lives the insanity. Out of my mind, / Where I can finally / Get away from / Demons tormenting me! Out of my mind – / I want totally free / From these thoughts / That bombard ceaselessly. I’ve got to get out of my mind! Out of my mind. / I’m searching for some peace. / Please. Get me out! / I have to have release. I’ve got to get out of my mind. Out of my mind. / It’s a prison in here: / Bars of torture, / Chains of anguish and fear. I’ve got to get out… Out of my mind! I’m really proud of this piece. I know it’s about a dark subject…but, again, as I say, pain is never pretty, but there can be found much beauty in art inspired by pain. And so, I give to you this poem and this image which is all about where I truly want to be: out of my mind, because it’s inside my head where all my problems are! This was put together with multitudinous layers, and various layer blending…a lot of it was experimental. I really should have wrote down what I did as I went along…but, heh, that’s just not my style. Suffice it to say, a lot of work went into it. This is another one of those very personal pieces where, should you dare to look, you can see me ever so clearly. But, I know I’m not alone in my torment; there are others who will relate to this. Every bit of this is mine. All the self-portrait images, every wee bit of texture. Isn’t it beautiful?
