  • I’m currently working on a larger piece with grenades…while sketching and doing studies I came out with this little piece. 15×10cm, watercolour/conte/chalk pastel & pen on canvas. / / I thought this time, I’d upload my (very silly) first sketch of it. I changed him a wee bit after then. / / / / Detail (much bigger than life size): / / / / Turtle grenades, goin off in ya face!! BOOM

  • in the Tikaboo Valley, Nevada, on the road to Area 51.

  • Poor sick tortoise thing, coughing up stuff.

  • This is Bella, she was given to me when she was about six months old, her owner could no longer care for her and her playfulness and just didn’t have time. She was a rowdy kitten that’s for sure but she is probably the sweetest cat I’ve ever had.

  • Sales of this TShirt ? – 1 sale so far :) / / Shoes available at zazzle Here’s something a little bit different, ‘Kameko’! There is a tshirt and a card in this design… / Kameko is from the ‘Asia Series’ by Karin Taylor / / This piece took a lot of time and patience, I hand painted lots of paper in different colours and cut into tiny pieces to create my mosaics. Then I drew my design and layed the tiny pieces down and glue them all on. Painstaking! I then worked on the image in Photoshop to give it a softer look, I used the filter called ‘Ink Outlines’ and another filter called ‘Watercolour’. In Japanese Kameko means ‘tortoise-child’ symbol for long life. I thought it appropriate, given the tiles which resemble tortoise shell

  • Acrylic On Canvas Ophelia,Phoebe and Mel having fun on the elephant’s back….and elephant was pleased to have their company as well! :D This was painted in May’08 and I remembered I had a yearning to want to visit Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand :D..so that was why I painted these 3 friends having an outing with the elephant….because there are many elephant reserves there in Chiang Mai, where they protect these precious animals from harm. I was glad to be able to go on that trip in June’08 this year! :D / / You can view and buy my other “On A Giant’s Back” creations from my Zazzle Gallery:

  • This tortoise is wondering what you want!

  • From Aesop’s Fables: A Tortoise, dissatisfied with lowly crawling on the ground, envied the birds who could soar high into the clouds whenever they desired. One day, he offered an Eagle all the treasures in the ocean if she would only teach him how to fly. The Eagle declined the offer at first, but the Tortoise kept insisting and pleading. “Fine, I will teach you to fly,” siad the Eagle and, taking him up in her talons carried him high into the sky. As she let go of him, she said, “Now, spread your legs and fly!” But before the Tortoise could say one word in response, he plunged straight down, hit a rock, and was dashed to pieces. Moral: Demand your own way, demand your own ruin. Ink drawing with digital color, 2006, part of a series This image is one of many story images of birds and animals featured in my calendar Legendary Tales: Myths and Legends

  • At a wildlife sanctuary in Namibia this baby giraffe, Klippie, was fascinated with one of the passing tortoises. The tortoise didn’t seem to mind either.

  • What’s not to love about turtles? They’re sweet and slow and gentle, and those darling shells are so pretty. Actually I’m pretty sure this one’s a tortoise, but ‘Tortoise Garden’ simple didn’t have the right ring to it – forgive me for my taxonomic faux pas! Graphite, coloured pencil and gouache on mountboard.

  • The Turtle through steadfast and undaunted determination helps us to navigate our life journey by way of its ‘connection’ to the Earth when we have become disconnected from that which sustains us all. Original – SOLD
