  • The Tornado and the Tree was shot in the spring of 2004 in south Kansas and was the first tornado in an out brake of tornados. This one storm cell had 10 tornados as it moved east north east along the Oklahoma Kansas line. The StormPhoto.net chase log (story about the chase) can be seen here If you live in apart of our world that gets severe weather please see my weather safety tips And have a plan and know what you would do, when the sky goes black. Thanks for supporting my works KF

  • I have seven different photos all on their own layers withs masks for blending. I doubled many of the layers and used the film grain filter and vivid light and hue saturation, Alos created much of the storm effects with the brush tool.

  • GOOD FRIDAY MAMMATUS / Photo best viewed large. / / / / / / FEATURED WORKS / “GOOD FRIDAY MAMMATUS” was FEATURED in the group #1 ARTISTS OF RED BUBBLE / / / I took this photo of Mammatus on a Good Friday before Easter in Ashland, Kentucky. The clouds first started rolling in and looked like fluffy white marshmallows. Then in front of the setting sun they dramatically began to change colors. They went from snow white to shades of silvers, pinks, grays, blues and even purples! The colors were quite striking and dramatic; these clouds were nothing like anything I had ever seen before! For a few minutes they turned very dark, and it was a sight I will never forget!! These amazing mammatus clouds lasted about 45 minutes before they exited my area. / / / We were under our second tornado watch of the year, and I found out later that I was standing right under the anvil of a severe thunderhead and that a tornado could have formed at any moment! Luckily for me it didn’t, and I was able to capture some phenomenal, amazing clouds. I can’t quite put it into words other than to say, “I closed my eyes for a few seconds and felt like I had been kissed on my cheek by an angel.” This was one time in my life that I will always remember!!! / / / This photograph of “GOOD FRIDAY MAMMATUS” has won National awards, been published in an Anthology, and has been shown on National television. This image is also featured in several websites and blogs throughout the USA and Australia for educational purposes. / / /

  • Many many images edited in CS3…lots of detail so look closely…:)....the little girl is my youngest dressed up as Dorthy (she is a big fan :) )....this was a shared project with her…she chose the theme and where things would go and what was added…..she really enjoys watching me work in photoshop and many times lends her thoughts on my images…sometimes I listen….like her though sometimes I am stubborn and do it my way :) lol

  • Acrylic on canvas See my journal entry for the inspiration for this piece. It is kind of crazy, but interesting if you can dig that kind of thing…. Also available from Zazzle.com as a mug and tote bag.

  • A mini tornado shot near Aberdeen combined with some wind turbines.

  • The horned God is the eternal hunter, and also the animal which is hunted. He is the Beast who is sacrificed so that human life may go on , as will as the sacrificer, the one who sheds blood. He is also seen as the sun, eternally hunting the moon across the sky. the waxing and waning of the sun throughout the seasons manifest the cycle of birth and death, creation and dissolution, separation and return. I built the background in photo shop, the tornado was drawn with brushes/blended and blurred / The clouds were pieced together from photos and masked and blended/blurred / Trees were my photos/separated and moved about / Antlers were a separate photo from the head

  • © Aimee Stewart, Foxfires FULL VIEW IS RECOMMENDED “Daylight follows a dark night” – Maasai Proverb I’ve had this image in my head for a long time: The bravery, strength, and goodness of a people who come what may stand tall in the face of impossible odds. • Visitor Upon the Winds See this Visitor Upon the Winds? / His mission is clear to him: / Pummel and raze and eviscerate. See this Visitor Upon the Winds? / His arm shatters mountains, / His breath twists oceans. See this Visitor Upon the Winds? / His mission is destruction. / Ferocity is his life. See this Visitor Upon the Winds? / He doesn’t see you. / Or care. We’re under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning right now…not the worst thing, and it looks like things should be OK. But I’ve been in a tornado (just a small one) and I’ve witnessed a boat founder in a waterspout. This image is dedicated to all the people who have fallen victim to the incredible destruction caused by these Visitors Upon the Winds. This image is an edited fractal that I painted. It’s the first time I’ve tried to do a painting of a figure on a fractal (although I’ve added lots of brushstrokes to add shapes and colors to fractals). I’m waaaaaaaay out of my comfort-zone with this one, so I hope someone likes it! / / / / /

  • The largest fish tornado, Bigeye travallies, Caranx sexfasciatus, I ever have seen. Tulamben, Bali, Small Sunda Islands, Indonesia, Banda Sea 664 Views Canon EOS 5D, 15mm Fisheye, SEACAM housing, 1/250s, f9, Subtronic-Underwater flash, manual

  • Rural northern Boulder County, Colorado Honest to God above, this was utterly amazing….I can’t really find the wards to describe the whole scene to you all but I will try my best. I had to handhold this, along with the other shots to come, my knee is totally kaput so using a tripod was pretty much out of the question, however that isn’t the only reason…as we were shooting last evening, the lightning was all over the place, and well there were times when I wanted to grab it and try, but thought better of it lol Tripods make for great Lightning conductors! lol The clouds were just insane, and I mean really crazy, this storm went severe dropping reports of funnel clouds to the north east of us and hail as well. It passed over our heads, but sure made for some utterly incredible atmospheric shots! So you take that, a Sunflower field the size of a small state, the sunset, a country road, and the foothills and mountains as a backdrop, and friends, you have quite a scene you will NEVER forget! Hope ya all like it! / —-John Minolta 5D / Minolta 18-70mm / CPL & ND4
