  • Vista of some of my favourite sandstone escarpment country. people once lived here.

  • the most mysterious and beautiful of landscapes…the human body. inspired by this passage from the novel, “The English Patient” by Michael Ondaatje: / “I’m afraid I waste the light on the paintings, not writing these words. We die. We die rich with lovers and tribes, tastes we have swallowed, bodies we’ve entered and swum up like rivers. Fears we’ve hidden in – like this wretched cave. I want all this marked on my body. Where the real countries are. Not boundaries drawn on maps with the names of powerful men. I know you’ll come carry me out to the Palace of Winds. That’s what I’ve wanted: to walk in such a place with you. With friends, on an earth without maps…”

  • An amazing display of color and texture in these two shoreline boulders reveals some of the tactile and visual wonder of nature. Image c Lynda Lehmann.

  • This was taken over the desert in California just after taking off from John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, Califorina. Oh those clouds were a sight to see! Enjoy!

  • This boulder is decorated in a variety of forms and colors. I think it makes a beautiful abstract. Nature’s textures and designs are truly marvelous and I take great joy from looking at them. Image c Lynda Lehmann. Part of my series called “The Living Surface.”

  • I came across this most unusual leaf – one half was the dark colour you see and the other the ‘redish’ colour. With the vein running down the middle and the little side veins and bumps etc, it really reminded me of looking at the topography of an area from say google maps or the old fasioned atlas. I’m really starting to enjoy abstract macro art – very challenging and great for ones imagination.

  • ....nature’s landscape… / It’s a macro of an Elephant Ear leaf in my backyard. The entire leaf was 45 inches long and 30 inches wide! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— Nikon D90 / Sigma 70-200 2.8 HSM / Extension Tube

  • I am always amazed at the diversity of life forms on our planet. And it grieves me that so many of them are threatened. Imagine, so many forms of life on the surface of a single rock! Taken in Maine. Image c Lynda Lehmann.

  • / / / / / Underground Geelong with Reg Lyons as my guide. A great little afternoon’s adventure of VERY wet legs, lol, spooky dark tunnels and lots of fun with some sparklers. Thanks so much Reg :o) especially for the beer! In this particular spot, there are a lot of messages from past travellers to this drain. The drain has been “painted” with light from a torch. / / / / /

  • / / I had some half ideas for a story here, but my notorious lack of patience has prevented it from eventuating. So use your own imaginations… Underground with Reg Lyons as good company, torches to light the way and plenty of little spiders to keep me on my toes. It was an adventure I will be repeating one day! / / / / /

  • A cyclist passes by one of the remaining parts of the Berlin Wall. Viewed from the former East German side. Photographed with a Sony DSLR and modified with Gimp. Featured in Gorgeous Germany in February 2009. Sold as a matted print in September 2009. I have put together a calendar of graffiti that I have seen around the world. It can be found by clicking on the following link: The Berlin Wall (Berliner Mauer) was a physical barrier separating West Berlin from the German Democratic Republic (GDR) (East Germany), including East Berlin. The longer inner German border demarcated the border between East and West Germany. Both borders came to symbolize the Iron Curtain between Western and Eastern Europe. The wall separated East Germany from West Germany for more than a quarter-century, from the day construction began on August 13, 1961 until the Wall was opened on November 9, 1989. During this period, at least 136 people were confirmed killed trying to cross the Wall into West Berlin, according to official figures. However, some victims’ groups claim that more than 200 people were killed trying to flee from East to West Berlin. The East German government issued shooting orders to border guards dealing with defectors; such orders are not the same as shoot to kill orders which GDR officials denied ever issuing. When the East German government announced on November 9, 1989, after several weeks of civil unrest, that all GDR citizens could visit West Germany and West Berlin, crowds of East Germans climbed onto and crossed the wall, joined by West Germans on the other side in a celebratory atmosphere. Over the next few weeks, parts of the wall were chipped away by a euphoric public and by souvenir hunters; industrial equipment was later used to remove almost all of the rest of it. The fall of the Berlin Wall paved the way for German reunification, which was formally concluded on October 3, 1990.
