  • www.cathleentarawhiti.co.nz Taken at Relay For Life, Hamilton, New Zealand. / It is a 24 hour relay, organised to raise funds and awareness for cancer research. I sold this large canvas (600mm x 800mm) to a woman who apparently walked into the restaurant I was showing at, took one look and had to have it. :)) Bliming brilliant! I was so excited as this was one of my first forays into portraiture and candid at that. • The main background is the plaster texture inverted. The splatter texture is overlayed on the viewers right. The 02 FAC texture was uploaded into the texturizer and applied to the face with the effect erased from the eyes and cheeks so it is most evident on the lips, nose and forehead. The 01 FAC texture was darken-layered around the edges of the image after I colored it magenta using the hue/saturation slider. The remaining elements are parts of my photos, model is my wife Candace who is my greatest inspiration.

  • Forgiveness not forgotten
    by tkrosevear

I forgave you yesterday for hurtful words / today, I compromised for affection / I’ll forgive you tomorrow / and lose more faith in my belie…

Back in 1992, I wrote this quote in my journal, “Forgiveness is a courageous attempt to add steps to the ladder of the future. To forgive oneself is the doorway to heaven and the challenge of lives to come.” I cannot remember who the author was, but this quote is a part of my daily routine - / I forgive myself for what I’ve done yesterday, today and tomorrow! / In my counseling efforts the issue of forgiveness is always misconstrued, that in order to forgive you must embrace the person forgiven – this is NOT to say you need live with them, tolerate future abuse, or forget the lessons learned from this relationship. I guess that this particular belief is what sparked the inspiration for this writing at 2am this morning. / I am hopeful that someone struggling with Self-Esteem earns their presence and ability to hold themself in enough regard and strength NOT to compromise themself for Survival, Affection or Success! / Peace~ Imagine my surprise today 5/6/09, when my sweet sister DevineDay Dreams created created this beautiful artwork to accompany this poem…

This peice is very detailed, and you cant really see all the details in the preview so please check the same artwork i uploaded. This peice is supposed to represent a far future where all organic life has been wiped out long since by the maschines we humans have created. this little sprout represents mother nature trying to re-adapt. Hope you like it, I will improve the picture in a short time, I am aware of some minor scrabbles. / Vote only if you feel so.
