  • Abusive Toleration
    by TalentedOne

It used to be love that I was feeling for you. The feelings were strong and I thought they would last forever. / Until you raised a hand …

This is about something that’s rarely talked about…..a man being abused by his woman. It IS out there and I’m just shining a little light on it.

  • PLANET EARTH
    by Ron Modro

What wil happen when fear and hate rule the world?

Planet Earth is our home. What are we going to do to protect it from ourselves?

  • The Guarded Heart
    by Arletta

The guarded heart is a merry ol’ thing, full of mirth and gaiety / It dances (in thought) and plays boisterously but kindly about / Oh how …

Just thinking .. .. my ex-sister-in-law says that my family is not close, I have been told by people that I am not cold, that I do not need them, and all sorts of other silly things. But, none of it’s true. I can be hurt easier than many who spill their emotions out all over the pavement everywhere they go. I need people, laughter, good conversation, love .. all that good stuff. I don’t need adoration and adulation for having said the sweetest thing or to be an open book, though. I don’t crave popularity .. but empathy. It means nothing, is the short version of the poem, if you have to display yourself publicly, explain yourself, and wait for approval. There is no friendship or love that rests on those qualities that I wish to have in my life. It means something when two can talk and share, and disagree at times, but still love and One can be understood because the Other wants to understand them.

  • Gay Rights
    by d-faith-k

We say “separation of church and state” but we mean domination from church to state.

I had a very taxing day. My feelings about this topic have been building up and I just needed to get them out. It started when I was gathering information for a project I’m doing on gay marriage. Then in my Psychology class we spent the whole time talking about sexual orientation and my head was swimming with all these ideas and feelings. Then after class I spoke with a friend about what happened in class, and our shared beliefs and I just needed to take the time to write down my feelings. So at work I spent all my time writing this instead of actually working. But I’m so glad I got it all out. Remember this is my opinion, if you have anything to say about it I would be happy to debate you, but respect my beliefs.

This poem was inspired after reading a book today by Owen Waters called “The Shift”. An amazing confirmation of our stepping forward into New Reality consciousness, to experience new vistas of awareness and new levels of creativity. Following our hearts to express our inner joys through making our own meaningful contribution to the betterment of the world. I am grateful and believe that it is truly a great time to be alive!
