painted in the pouring rain, / while the lady on the seat was waiting for her great grand daughter. / she suffered from alzhiemers.. and would go in an out of reality or the moment, the grand daughter and great grand daughter we’re supposed to arrive by ferry…. and as you can see…for this is painted in real time ..to capture a real moment… as you can see they came from a different direction, and the great grandmother just kept watching the ferry’s ,waiting,,and waiting.and commenting on the latness of her grandaughter, when they finally arrived she unfortunately didn’t remember them immediately…. and told “the strangers” she was waiting for her grand daughter and great grandchild, then after they had all hugged and danced,,, great grandma remembered and they all departedt to attend an afternoon recital at the Opera…. / I packed up my easel and brushes and left

NOOSA FESTIVAL OF SURFING / Captured live on location at LAGUNA BAY NOOSA HEADS depcting the surf festival , first point, competitors and tents. / The clouds and sky directly represent the changing face of the day from early morning storms to a rain free afternoon. / In the imagery we see a visual conversation starting with the lad in the foreground whose feined interest in the competion is distracted by the blonde in the blue bikini striding toward him, with her vision firmly locked on the paddle surf competitor, he hopes for the ‘accidental’ meeting. Meanwhie the contestant riding the wave is looking directly toward the judges podium, as his mentor in blue stands directly in his vision portraying a stance of encouragement. / the body language of the three short board riders shows a moment of decision whereas the one closest to the waterline, is oblivious to the surf rescue board the one on the right is about to negotiate, and the one in the middle has already gauged a safe passage. All three walk with purpose and intent toward the cometitors arena.BR> The flow of visual conversation forms a Z across the atrwork utilising the flags and the headland to contain the viewer and guide him/her to the event unfolding in the motif and the horizontal line of surfboards in the foreground directing the eye to the longboard in the bushes / Hope you all enjoy!!!! During the live event artscapes of the Innagural No osalongweekend I attended a dinner evening at a restuarant by the Noosa River, the wines selected for the evenings degustation were those depicted in the artscape. / love life / T.O.L.A.

A long story to this one my friends…. a good long story, actually a great story, but for now I’ll keep it short. / the Bands / Michael Bryers supporting The Flood / the dancers- a group of Physically and mentally handicapped youths who had no idea of what was to come of thier night when their carers decided to find somewhere to pass an hour or two after taking thier charges out for the day… / the Colours / added by a blind lass, two downe syndrome lads, three ceralbal palsy youths and I believe two MS young folk. / It took a bit of coaxing for the carers to comprehend that the people of Eumundi, attending this concert, would and did treat all that night as equals…. as you would expect anywhere…. but as we all are unfortunately are aware this does not always happen. / those with thier walkers danced with whom they could … the blind lass and another twirled non stop on the dancefloor (occassionally guided by a local away from harms reach… / the night would make a great and true movie, but for now this artscape was created on such a night and bears testimony to the courage and kindness of perfect strangers… / love life / T.O.L.A. / ps the original is still available..
