Nightshot (10sec exposure) of the side wall of the Zwinger Palace in Dresden, Germany, formerly part of the Dresden fortress of which the outer wall is conserved. The name derives from the German word Zwinger (outer ward of a concentric castle); it was for the cannons that were placed between the outer wall and the major wall. This city was firebombed in 1945 and is being painstakingly rebuilt to its pre-war splendor.

Image taken in Corolla, NC. I love getting up early to catch the first light of a new day, just never have tried to photograph it. This is pretty much one of my first attempts.
The radio crackles to life: Warrior Six this is Lima One Niner, radio check, over. Without looking up from his map, Lt. Johnson snarls at Cpl. Howard to turn that damn radio down. In the distance, Sgt. Hochberg positions his machine gun fire teams, to ensure the path beyond the cypress tress will be right in the kill zone. While smoking the last cigarette for the next few days, I gaze into the distance and take notice of the inherent beauty right in front of me. With daylight fading, each soldier nestles in for the night, light and noise discipline strictly enforced. We will lay in wait for the next two days to ambush a company sized element we expect to move through this area. Sadly, this beautiful spot will be touched by the horrors of warfare, lives will be lost, families touched for eternity.
Sometime ago I found a few of these classic cars near the side of the road and recently I finally was in the area again, to get a few more shots. This is an HDR image.

Captured this scene while crossing the Charles Bridge in Prague, heading to Prague Castle. During the day Charles Bridge comes to life with all sorts of artists, painters, performers and the like, a really neat place to visit. Charles Bridge crosses the river Vltava (Moldau), construction began in 1357! I can only highly recommend a visit to Prague, if you ever get a chance. I hope to return here someday for an extended photo safari. This is an HDR image, taken with my first DSLR, the Nikon D50 coupled with a Tokina 12-24mm lens and Feisol carbon fibre tripod with Gitzo head. My art with 1000+ views
This was really a sight to behold, Prague is such a beautiful city. The red roof tops really jump out, don’t they? Thank you Maggie for the most excellent title ! / HDR image, then add’l post processing applied (dodge & burn, etc). Taken with the Nikon D50 and the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 lens. My art with 1000+ views
The path to faith ….. the bridge to somewhere ….. Taken with Nikon D200 and Tokina 12-24mm f/4 lens. HDR processing applied.
Correct, do not pass this scene without stopping for a picture or two. Just out and about, heading to a favorite tree of mine, came upon this fantastic sky. Taken with D200 and Tokina 12-24mm f/4 lens. Touch of HDR applied.
i love my tripod though i dislike carrying it with the big chunk of manfrotto metal on top / nikon d300 / tokina 12-24mm lens which is for sale
This shot was taken on the way home from a motorcycle trip to Dayton, OH. My buddy was getting a little ticked off at my wanting to stop to take this shot, as we tried to outrun the rain. Am I glad we stopped !!! This looked like an old church, that someone then had used as a residence for years. I LOVE the red leather chair on the porch, and the sky was just perfect for HDR. Taken with Nikon D300 and Tokina 12-24mm lens. Post processing included HDR treatment, and some dodge & burn.
2005 BMW K1200LT at New River Gorge in West Virginia. My buddy Jim was cracking up when he saw me laying on the ground, trying to get this angle. The longest arch bridge in the Western Hemisphere is visible near the bike’s headlight. I now wish I would have changed the angle/composition so as not to have the front of the bike appear so busy … Oh well, next time ….. Image made with Nikon D300 and Tokina 12-24mm f/4.
As we are nearing the 8th anniversary of 9/11, I wanted to post this shot of Lower Manhattan. I am a bit ashamed to say, that I have not seen the New York City skyline with the World Trade Center Towers. I can only imagine how magnificent it must have looked. We shall never forget!
Captured images of this old Mack truck at a rock quarry near Vicksburg, PA. HDR image generated from five RAW images. / Taken with Nikon D200 and Tokina 12-24mm. Best viewed in LARGE!
The other night I was taking some pictures of this really neat halo around the moon. Finally got pretty cold, and couldn’t resist taking a few pictures of my Christmas tree, while the camera was still mounted on the tripod. Taken with Nikon D300, Tokina 12-24mm lens.
A little wooden dinghy aptly named “Apprentice” looks onto the massive Iowa class battleship “USS Wisconsin”, berthed in Norfolk, VA. Keep dreaming large, it just may come to fruition! Taken wirh Nikon D300 and Tokina 12-24mm
