Tulip of the spring brought together with the sanitary environment of the loo!
Digital Illustration using PS CS, around 20hrs. Sept 2007. Dedicated to so someone who made life pretty hard this year for a while someone who is known for telling people to “shit or get off the potty” without actually doing anything himself. To this person I give a most classy two finger salute in a way that is more then self explanitory. :P Anyone who has worked their ass off and given it their all in the face of someone who is a total meglomaniac telling them they can’t for thier own reasons of insecurity or whatever will totally relate to this im sure!
The one guy knocked the other guys head off… LOL / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
Thats the noise it’s gonna make when his head falls in the water… sorry did I mention there was water down there / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

Recently we did a test shoot for two really funny and crazy guys who also happen to make music together, Jase and Tom after their manager aeris saw my stuff on RedBubble and decided I am shit hot at what I do. (I’m working on the modesty bit, I swear.) Anyway they really really didn’t want to do a photo shoot in a smelly, public, and damp mens’ toilet so naturally I nagged at them until they relented. Then the first thing their manager said upon viewing this image was “That one’s for RedBubble!” So here it is.
This is a montage of about 150 photos shot with a Sony Cybershot P200. This was the delight that we inherited when we brought our house. The bath alone was a wonderful centre piece we particularly enjoyed the shower controls located outside the bath on the wall. The louvred door was entertaining as it had been put on the wrong way so you could see through the slates into the bathroom…. We had great pleasure knocking it all out right back to the brick and starting again. Now I dedicate this piece to the memory of our bathroom….May it memories live with us as a reminder of what not to do…...amen. / / Let me know what you think of my image. All feedback is appreciated.
This tongue in cheek little collage is an obvious nod to Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”. It also comes from a totally irrational fear I had as a child of toilets… a small print hung in the lav would undoubtedly elicit a chuckle.
Self Explanatory I hope… If you:re worried bout your thoughts check your basis… Then again- sometimes just can:t stop thinking about shit…
For the amenity of self I’m only standing here / as long as it takes / to purge you from the centre of me / you sit back there thinking I’ve not got a heart / but I do / and I am going to take it back from you. I’m going to hold it / warm it again / and place it back where it belongs / in my chest / proud and functioning / without you. I care not that you are everything / one thing / more than something I ever wanted / It’s too late now / I am washing it all away; Down / around / circling through the bends / gurgling and spluttering / away into the ocean of tears / where the waves curl and lick the saltiness / under again where it belongs / today / I am going to stand up straighter than I ever have / there is no other way / I am going to stare at myself in that mirror / until my eyes become my own again / and I’m going to say it all / until I believe it. Goodbye. © ryan This wonderful poem was written by the very talented writer and good friend / nicole ryan This series was shot the old fashioned way, the camera an old Pentax K1000 with ILford Black and White film and hand printed using high contrast filters. / This public toilet was utterly disgustingly dirty and had not been cleaned for who knows how long. The available light just made it look beautiful! / No post production on this, it’s a straight scan from the original hand printed print.
