Acrylic paint on canvas board Sorry for the lack of words to explain these last postings. I find that when I concentrate on the texture, shape, colour and pattern in a painting, the subject matter then becomes a portrayal of my subconcious – and that takes a while to interpret and understand. I have to distance myself a bit from the work and then the meanings become clear. Of course I am always grateful for your interpretations – so please do leave a comment.

When I was a young man I saw Sarah Vaughn in concert . She sat down at the piano and played this really jazzy classical sounding piece and began to sing. The memory of that experience resonates with me even today. One afternoon I sat down and played my old Korg DW-8000. Not being a musician by any stretch of the imagination, I was pleased with how my excercise came out. I listened to it while I showered and began to sing. I jumped out of the shower in a rush, wrapped myself in a towel and still wet, recorded “One Afternoon” as the voice in my head dictated. Here is the end result. BTW I know I don’t really sound like her! The drawing of myself at a babygrand piano, which I don’t have, is inspired by the whole experience and is being uploaded at the request of long-time friend Kerry L. I really must get up and shower. I must be somewhere within the hour. La, la, la, la, la, la… I don’t have time to wait. I mustn’t stop or hesitate. I really must be on my way. All those things out there waiting for me need to be tended to don’t you see? Please forgive me if I must go. So long now don’t you know? While waiting one afternoon I sat down and composed this tune. Not really knowing what to say, the words just came out this way. La, la, la, la, la, la… /

This is my old buddy Morgan and his beautiful girlfriend Steen. / When we met up this summer for pictures, this was the first time in 6 years that we saw each other!! We had met back in 2002 at Cadet Camp in Trenton and he was one of my very best friends there. It was Morgan, Me, Charlotte, Steve and David. The 5 of us looked out for each other and stuck together the whole camp. It was amazing. I loved seeing him again and showing him around my town! haha.
