Smoking is a practice where a substance, most commonly tobacco, is burned and the smoke tasted or inhaled. This is primarily done as a form of recreational drug use, as combustion releases the active substances in drugs such as nicotine and makes them available for absorption through the lungs. It can also be done as a part of rituals, to induce trances and spiritual enlightenment. The most common method of smoking today is through cigarettes, either industrially manufactured or rolled with loose tobacco and a rolling paper. Other forms, though not as common, are pipes, cigars, hookahs and bongs.(wikipedia.org)
My third attempt at toppling the tobacco industry :)
Aachen Germany. OM-3. 21mm. Ilford 3200 film. this was a very difficult shot as it was dusk and i was without a tripod. a flash would have bounced off the glass. super high speed film was my only option. the grain is natural for this speed film. I wanted DOF to get the inside of the shop as well as the man in the window. not the best technically, but one of my favorites.

Sydney, Long Reef is a protected marine reserve with rock shelves that extend out about 200m into the sea. We were lucky to have a beautiful cloud and still water reflecting of it. Shot with Cokin Z-Pro Tobacco Filter to give it a mood. The normal image tho looks good are just to wash out and unattractive, so i strap a filter on. Gum Boots is essential for early Sydney Sea Side shoot – unless you want wan mild frostbite at the end of the morning…eiei. Mind you i usually go shoe less in Summer…ahhaha…feel the water. 0.04 sec (1/25) | f/6.3 | 10 mm | ISO: 100 | Bias: 1 +EV | Shade WB / www.hangingpixels.com
My third attempt to destroy the tobacco industry. This should be the knockout blow :)
In remote villages in the mountains of northern Thailand, the children in some ethnic groups including Karen Pwo, smoked rough tobacco cheroots and pipes. When schools were established in the 1980s, the practice declined. The parents, also avid smokers and betel chewers, had no idea that smoking was bad for their children’s health. Nikon FM2, kodachrome slide film.
About Another morning, another trip to Currumbin. I was impressed that at low tide, there were plenty of waves still rushing through – such a fantastic place to visit. - ISO 100, f8, 13sec, 10mm / - Sigma 10 – 20mm / - Cokin P154 (Tobacco Grad) Processing 1) Import into Lightroom as RAW / - WB tweak (between daylight and cloudy), Curves, contrast / 2) Into Photoshop / - Curves on the sky only to darken a little / - Unsharp Mask / - Soft Light Layer (10%) / 3) Back into Lightroom / 4) Export using Flickr Uploader and LR2/Mogrify plugin

I have been going bonkers of late! Stuck inside over Xmas and the set of P filters that santa brought me whispering sweet nothings to me from my camera bag have been doing nothing to help matters! I got out for an hour or so yesterday and returned to a local haunt…..I will probably go back again over the next few days…the sun is big and low at the moment on a clear night! I missed the sunset….bah BUMHUG…......but caught its last spluttering rays as they danced over the horizon. I decided to play with a light tobacco grad filter. Now, I have heared tell that they should be left in your bag unless your doing a car advertising shoot…..but I disagree…I think it has added real warmth to this shot…no tinkering in PS…all down to the filter…..and dont let those warm oranges fool you…..it was knocking on for -2 when I shot this…. /
It was a last minute decision to pop out before dinner and take a few shots. I had to do it as all day there were very limited photo opportunities. Boy was I glad that I popped out….a great scene greeted me….mirror like reflections and magical light…only if I didn’t deliberate for so long….. I did a photoshoot of a WRX STI last night, a really nice car. I’ve used the “impending doom” filter, as used by topgear all too frequently.. The photo was taken at hillarys, on the coast of Western Australia. Quite like the results. - paul

A young Pwo Karen girl in Northern Thailand smokes her tobacco pie while looking after her younger sister. In the 1980s it was common for the children of some hilltribes to smoke rough homegrown tobacco and chew betel. As schools were established the practice has died out.
I finally got my Holga negatives processed and scanned. This is a shot I took the next day on my way home from Big Day Out this year.
