If you all have not seen ToastedGhost’s Zodiac Series, I highly suggest you check it out, even better for some high resolution head shots and a promise to purchase a laminated print, he will transform you into your birth sign, I think he has Capricorn, Virgo, Scorpio and Sagittarius still open… / Mine was a Libra… Personally, I think he should do a RedBubble Calendar with this series, he brings new meaning to transformational art! A big Hi to all artists and loyal supporters of my work. / RB is wonderful place. For years I struggled to find an outlet for my work trying with limited success a variety of so called “art” sites and imagine my amazement when I found RB on the other side of the Globe. A great place to network, discover new friends, promote and sell your creative artworks, but then you probably know that already. My poor wife is presently working her fingers to the bone, (for the wife of a ghost you say that’s probably cool), whilst I am chief cook, childminder and bottle washer. I do work at present as a part-time children’s entertainer, clown, robot & pirate etc which brings in a small income but would love to let her relax a little more. / My creative images are slowly receiving more recognition, displays at local galleries etc though there is a challenge I would dearly love to win, “London Calling” competition with my T-shirt design entry Call London for the indie streetwear store Demo in London. So I ask if you would please look at the entries for http://www.redbubble.com/groups/redbubble/challenges/933-this-is-london-calling and vote for my image Call London if you believe my design deserves to win / There are hundreds of entries mine will be after the 100th entry Many thanks again for you kind support and long may RB remain the greatest of art sites for the creative artist! Love ToastedGhost

A major thank you for all my supporters out there and everyone who voted for me. THANK YOU!

This is “Monitor Man” / . / Please see http://www.redbubble.com/people/toastedghost/art/2472778-2-monitor-man / for tech details Now the interesting part would you has a participating RB artist like the opportunity to have “Monitor Man” advertise your work in Major UK cities? / Think out of the box… I have! lol / Because the web is worldwide any artist advertised can be instantly accessed on the web. Before I found RB my own sales were very limited I would never have believed that an Australian site would have done so well for me a UK artist. / I can create a slideshow or movie of your work complete with links and I will provide photos of my performances in the UK advertising your work… / This is a unique form of advertising… a total show stopper! ANY ONE INTERESTED / Prices have not been decided… I thought I’d throw it open to you to begin with The National Museum of Photography and Television in the UK today (Mon 29th Jan) expressed an interest in “Monitor Man” / I hope to push this creations with local and national museums and with TV stations later… A Red Nose For RedBubble

Well thought I’d give you guys out there an update on Monitor Man’s progress or lack of it. / For those of you who do not yet know my creation please see / Monitor Man / The National Museum of Media ping ponged me to 3 different departments (Isn’t it great when they cannot pigeon hole you, no label exists since one has not yet been invented) Final I speak to a young girl who says “Wow your idea sounds fantastic, email me the details and pics” / Emailed pics/videos and descriptions she informs me my details have been sent to the family workshop unit (not that I still believe that is the right department) / No one wanted to see my creation in the flesh so to speak. / The nearest big gallery said a virtual repeat of the above and guess what sent my details to the family unit… and did they want to see…errr no.. OK / Next stop… / Comic Relief… this is a UK charity which aids charities in the UK and globally… / It is a major UK event and raised more than 40 million UK pounds in 2007. / In 2005 I raised £115.00 in one hour and 15 minutes in my own small village. / In 2007 I thought head for the city I’ll raise even more cash here. 3 1/2 hours in the pouring rain dressed as a clown and I raised £33.00 and the locally bank said “Oh no not another Comic Releif supporter… if you’re bringing in cash you’ll have to count it yourself…” My reply “there’s a £150.00 here or prehaps not since I am dyslexic” .... Nice to feel so wanted. / Well despite all this I continue… / I will ring Comic Relief headquarters in London… / “Wow your idea sounds fantastic (dajavue) you must be a genius…” / “Thanks, ok have legs have monitor head can travel….Could you send me some videos and I can play them where ever you like….” / Oh sorry no… we don’t have any videos ourselves… all the videos belong to the BBC…” / “Now the best thing to do is use our free webspace tell the world what you are doing…. raise lots of cash…. and jump up and down from the tallest building and scream your lungs out and then maybe some one might see your webspace and …” She did not actually say those words word for word but that was the gist of it. So the BBC own all the rights might has well be the Russian Mafia.. / OK, I think the BBC are not the only video creators. So I find videos from the World Food Programme. They are very factual and great visual footage but watching them is like eating cream crackers with no butter or water. Still with a bit of editing still using all their original footage and rearranging the sound track and giving it a soft music background it rocks. / Feeling good about this I went on to create a video of the homeless in the UK using photos creative blends and a musical soundtrack. couple the two videos with some funny commercial outakes and wacky vids and I have my own portable Comic Relief. / I get in touch with the local mall an ideal space since I have performed there before. Met with a secretary from hell who basically hates my idea and thinks that I am some kinda nutter… / BANG! / Again another person who has made judgments about an object that they have not even seen! / I am trying tomorrow to see if I can obtain a street performers license to perform in the street…(Yes you have to be vetted.. in this world of “free speech” you must first interview the protest song player and then decided not give him a license). Will the “judge” have been to University and studied “Devised Performance” or spent 5 years studying “Visual Communication”? / Some how or other I doubt it they will be using there personal judgment on what they see is suitable for the public… / I am also going to try my local building society, they are a very friendly bunch, maybe they might let me perform? / Another wild idea is that the godfather of Britart, Charles Saatchi, is to play a silent Svengali in an X Factor-style search for British artists. (Maybe I enter this competion?) Saatchi, who famously spotted and promoted young British artists such as Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin in the 1990s, is to preside over the talent contest, which will be screened on BBC2 later this year. The winner will have his or her work shown at the Hermitage museum in St Petersburg in October. / The only problem being that I must live in London for 3 months at an “art School Boot camp (I was originally at art school in 1976 Ha!) Well that all my rantings I will keep you informed of my next stages… / Thanks for listening

An update on Monitor Man / Please read the previous Journal if this sounds a little confusing. / Today I became license to busk. A busker license is require to perform in some UK cities. Freedom of speech? / After a long wait in a busy council office I received my license. On the application I had one tiny line to describe my act “Monitor Man display entertaining videos on his head” lol. What will some council officials make of that one? / I looked down at my new license and thought “Licensed to Busk… James Bond” / and bloody hell the my official number is BU0007, not quite 007 but close. / Well at least the council officials were more understanding than some of the reactions I have received. / My local building society whilst not running any thing special for RED NOSE DAY (Comic Relief) the manager (who at first thought that I was joking when I said I put my head inside the monitor. lol) said if head office were OK about she would love to have me perform in her office.

Hi / Many thanks to all of everybody who has been following my progress so far as “Monitor Man” / I am presently looking for sponsors to raise money for “Red Nose Day” Friday March 13th 2009 / “Red Nose Day” is a day of fun and raising awareness to major issues both Globally and in the UK. “Red Nose Day” forms part of Comic Relief who have so far raised over £250 million for good causes. / A child dies every 3 seconds from malnutrition. / On “Red Nose day” I will be performing as “Monitor Man” in Huddersfield City Centre in the UK. “Monitor Man” will show crazy movie clips and films from the World Food Programme, Oxfam and videos I have produced on the homeless. Please view my home page at Rednoseday.com / http://www.myrednoseday.com/MonitorMan?SID=58092 Please copy and paste this link in manually since it refuses to work properly when it is actively linked I will give everybody an update after the event. Hi Folks Well a big thanks for all your support. / My latest crazy idea is to enter “Vanstallation” Big vans, small vans, work vans, campervans, caravans, / all kinds of vans with art installations inside. Performance, sound, light, art, sculpture whatever you like… The second ‘Vanstallation’© will happen on / June 14th 2009 from 12 – 4pm. “Vanstallation” offers the winner the “Real” Turner prize. The idea was dreamt up by 2 brothers called Turner who run the local garage specializing in, yes you’ve guessed it, VANS. holmfirthartsfestival I will be using my video screen showing an animated film of the best of ToastedGhost seen from the rear of my Citroen Berlingo through a tiny hole a specially prepared panel. the panel will either have a headphone socket for personal listening or a small speaker. I have won the substance of things not seen challenge… / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/redbubble/challenges/7629-the-substance-of-things-not-seen“ / This could not have been achieved without the my friends and fans voting for me… So I would just like to say a big THANK YOU!!!! to everybody who voted for my piece. I entered really because I love the “TED” lectures and would urge anybody to tune in and listen to them if they have not before. / This is a huge honour for me. I am trying desperately to get my artwork going since my work has a clown has almost dried up and my wife hates her present job. And without her I could not continue to do the things I do. My 6 year old daughter said 2 things to me that were very profound recently the first went… “Daddy why do you like making people laugh?” I said “Just want to brighten their day and lighten their load” The next question… “Daddy why are you so happy?” “Darling I just won a big competition because a lot of people love my work and have voted for me” and she said “They probably love your work because they love you” Aint she beautiful?.... Many many thanks to all…

Hello and welcome to my new gallery space in “PROBODY” inside the Imperial Arcade, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. / The manager of “Probody” a Piercing and Tattoo Studio” tracked me down on RedBubble since he had found one of my business cards in a local cafe.
