  • This t-shirt is another in my line of cards, prints, and clothing geared towards bringing increased awareness to the plight faced by the world’s flora and fauna. this t-shirt, based upon my series of frog, toad, and salamander photographs, depicts the green treefrog, common or Eastern toad, and spotted salamander. They have all been treated with a watercolor filter in photoshop for added depth and detail. The quote on the bottom of the shirt reads: “In the end we will conserve only what we love, we will love only what we understand, and we will understand only what we are taught.” ~Baba Dioum, Senegalese ecologist. Because without these animals I would never be able to bring their beauty to you, I am going to pledge to donate 100% of all of my sales proceeds from cards and prints of the imagery in this series here on Redbubble to Wildlife Conservation Society

  • Ok so this one’s a bit wierd…but some of you seem to like that :) I read a book in which the future could be told by feeding gold dust to animals, dissecting them and seeing where the gold collected in their viscera. It was a crap book but an interesting idea! 3 separate canvases – watercolour, chalk pastel, ink, conte, metallic leaf on canvas. These are bigger than life size:

Best Viewed Large This little guy … and all his brothers and sisters … love to come take a dip in my pool every night (I think it rains toads here) ... and every morning it is my great pleasure to scoop them out … one by one … and set them free. They’re about the size of a fingernail … a regular fingernail, you know, the kind that scrubs floors and does a bit of gardening (when not taking pictures, that is), not those long fancy manicured types. I decided the other day that it was time these guys paid for all my rescue efforts with a little modeling. Fear not … after 5 minutes or so he was sent on his merry way!!! Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 60mm Nikon/Nikkor macro/micro lens on the morning of June 21, 2009. Shutter at 1/400, aperture f/10.0, exp. 0.00, iso 400. Also Available:

  • This is a big yellow toad I found out in my backyard. I was walking in the leaves this past Fall and something moved. Well I was a little worried that it might be a snake….so I stood real still and looked around. Then it hopped. So I caught it and brought it in for a little photo shoot. I had already set up a spot with pumpkins and gourds for the puppies…so in the set he went. Needless to say…he was not too happy. / FEATURED IN “EYE CONTACT” / 2 TOP 10 FEATURES IN FABULOUS FROGGIES / PLACED IN THE TOP 10 IN THE FROGS AND TOADS CHALLENGE IN PETS ARE US / /

This little guy and his brothers and sisters come and play in my pool every evening … and every morning I get to scoop them out and spend a minute or two taking pictures while they kindly pose. Then it’s off to the unseen world of tasty bugs and cool tall grasses they go … only to return to the pool again another day, another time … year after year. And so the circle of life continues!!! Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 60mm Nikon lens on the morning of July 2, 2009. Shutter speed 1/25, aperture f/11.0, exp -.33, iso 200. Also Available:

Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 60mm Nikon Micro/macro lens at 1/10 shutter, f/11.0 aperture. A bit of tinkering in Photoshop on this one mainly dodging and burning, also cropped.
