  • pickin
    by Christopher Ewing

    US$4.49–US$102.60

in the little town i live in, townsend tn., we have this old timers bluegrass festival. / you will see people of all ages young and old, enjoying bluegrass and gospel music. you can see what the ” old days” were like with old tractors, old single engines running homemade ice cream machines, balers, all sorts of mechanical apperatis. / one of the things i love about the festival is how each little band forms their own circle, and just plays to whomever wants to stand around and listen. / there are fiddles, violins, cellos, basses, banjos, all sorts of musical instruments. / this one guy had what looks to be a guitar turned right side up, and picking it. / so something just said..shoot it..and i did :)

  • foggy path
    by Christopher Ewing

    US$4.49–US$102.60

Ive been waiting and waiting to get this particular shot. I wanted the fog so thick the light’s beams would be the only thing coming down over the bike trail located here in Townsend. Many nights I have gone to check out the fog. We finally had some good fog night before last, so off I go, only to realize the light wont exactly shine as I have it pictured in my mind due to the way the light shade is built. So I am settling for this shot. Who knows maybe with thicker fog I can eventually get that shot I have been waiting for. Shot this in Manual Mode set on the Bulb setting. / Fstop set at F 6.3 / Focal Length at 80mm / Exposure time was at 1 sec / ISO was set at 200 / Exposure comp set at 0

  • this is not my home
    by Christopher Ewing

    US$4.49–US$102.60

I went to the Knoxville Zoo for the first time in November of 2008. It was the first time I had visited this zoo since I had moved to this area in 2000. / As I was shooting this bear, I could feel it’s pain. I felt it was so ironic that the native animal of this area was living in the enviroment it has to live in. So as I was shooting this shot, that is when the title came to my mind. It literally drove me crazy listening to people making sounds at it, and hitting the glass, I think I did well by not just going off on them, which is what I really wanted to do. / As much as I hate to say it, I wasnt impressed with the zoo’s set up for all the animals I viewed while I was there. Just hard to make a home with concrete walls, fake trees, and a blank surrounding. / Without a doubt, I have adapted quickly to shooting these animals in the wild, in their natural habitat. / I shot this thru the glass, after getting my shot ready for auto focus, I switched to manual so my lens wouldnt focus in on the glass as I hit the shutterbutton. / Shooting at an angle so the glare from behind me wouldnt reflect on the glass. I shot this in Shutterspeed (SS) mode / SS set at 1/160 / Fstop at F 5.6 / ISO at 400 / Focal length at 300mm / Exposure compensation at 0

  • smoke on the water
    by Christopher Ewing

    US$4.49–US$102.60

this was taken last night in knoxville, tn, for the boomsday celebration. boomsday ( i found out 2years after moving here) is the celebration for the last day of summer. the fireworks are shot off the main bridge that leads into knoxville. / about 250,000 people come to watch this firework display. unfortunately last night there wasnt enough wind to blow away the smoke from the fireworks, so getting a “great shot” of the fireworks themselves was virtually impossible. / this smoke was coming off the water after a display had gone off that they shoot from the water. the hole in the smoke was totally awesome, dont have a clue of what caused it. the lights within the hole are from boats on the water viewing the fireworks. you cant really see the bridge they shoot fireworks off of, due to the thick cloud of smoke / even tho disappointing as it was with the smoke not clearing from the show, it was still well worth going to see. if you’re ever in this area around labor day weekend, id recommend taking the time out to view this fireworks show. / best if viewed larger / this has been touched up for me by Marianne Venegoni all she did was remove the boat at the bottom left and the limb that refused to get out of the shot, it hasnt been cropped, she is a master at cloning! The smoke and everything else has not been altered or the effect created, this IS how the smoke was coming off the water. / Thanks for doing this for me :) / this is the original shot… /

  • shooting from what has become one of my favorite spots in townsend. we are finally starting to get alittle snow. hopefully we will have a good snow season this year, the mountains really do need that water / amazing how some of the colors are still lingering on / shot this in SS priorty, / SS of 1/100, / F-stop at F/20, / ISO at 400, / focal length at 28mm, / exposure comp at -0.03 / best if viewed larger

  • Sara Evans
    by Christopher Ewing

    US$4.49–US$102.60

Sara Evans performing at the Foothills Fall Festival in Maryville TN, 10/14/07 / She was the one I had waited patiently for three days to get a chance to shoot while performing. However her manager felt threatened by a professional photographer and wanted me out of there after her third song. Which really bothered me since I wasnt there to just shoot her, I was there to get a job done, shoot her fan’s reactions and her band and her perform. I did manage to finish my job tho :D
