  • after many many hours and km’s…. this storm was dead and I thought I had missed a ‘dream shot’. The lightinging had become so sparse it seemed ridiculous even sitting on the beach to watch, yet alone be set up to photograph lightning ! / But alas ! this storm had one final freak discharge to exult to earth….ahhh….patience and persistence. :) / / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2008 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / / / / see more of my weather related photography by clicking below / /

  • A powerful daytime lightning strike pounds the pine plantation only 500m away…this transperancy looks spectacular when projected. see more of my meteorology photography at / thunderstorms

  • This was taken as the moon re-emerged over the Whitsunday Islands from a total lunar eclipse on the 28th August 2007. Originally I had intended to photograph the entire event, but thicker early cloud cover forced me to start this one a bit later than originally intended. / / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / / see more photographic works from North Qld. by clicking on the preview below

  • Clicking on the image for a more detailed view is highly recomended. After the dry summer a brilliant tinge of green cloaks the rolling hills amidst the remnant rainforest in South Gippsland’s Strzelecki Ranges. A muted sunlight briefly breaks through the rain and cloud to gently illuminate a hill line and a patch of rainforest foliage. Two small ‘puffs’ of orographic mist can also be seen rising. / Fuji G617 – Velvia 100F. / ©T.Middleton2008 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / / see more of my TRUE panoramic photography by clicking on the image below / / -

  • Clicking on the image for a more detailed view is highly recomended. The last glow of the day gently renders the scene in soft hues.An incoming tide and swell has already forced me from my original composition and threatens to do so again…It’s a tedious wait for the exposure to finish without my gear and I getting wet ! / When viewed even at only 30% of the original 2 Sooty oyster catcher birds can sharply be seen on the rock outcrop in the right of frame.

A bit different from my more nature and environment based subject that I normally upload…But this is yet another composition that I had wanted to capture for a long time but couldn’t think of a good way to do it. The run of foggy mornings in the last week made me curious to explore it in these conditions.I like the result, I feel it has a smooth yet coldness emotion… / Fuji G617 – Velvia 100F. / ©T.Middleton2008 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / / see more of my TRUE panoramic photography by clicking on the image below / / -

  • Click on the image for a more detailed view. The last glow of the sun kisses the western flank of some coastal instability which rapidly develops into a short lived cold air thunderstorm. As this light is reflected in small puddles in the foreground waves surge through rock platforms generating waterfalls into the larger channels. / Fuji G617 – Velvia 100F. / ©T.Middleton2008 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / see more of my TRUE panoramic photography by clicking on the image below / /

  • After a run of foggy mornings during May in southern Victoria I was fortunate enough to photograph this location in one of two ways that I photographically envisage it. / Fuji G617 – Velvia 100F. / ©T.Middleton2008 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / see more of my TRUE panoramic photography by clicking on the image below / /

  • I was in rugged remote country in outback Qld – no one else about…my sort of place ! Whilst exploring the region earlier in the day I had spotted this large isolated red termite mound and put it ‘in the memory bank’ for a possible composition. As the sun descended an amazing bit of luck occurred. The elements came together and the last of the sun’s rays continued to shine through the gap/gorge that had been eroded through the ridgeline to the west – hi lighting the termite mound and surrounding spinifex. It was very special to witness and something I feel so lucky to have been the only one to see! • Amongst the most southern warm temperate rainforest in the world this giant old Kanuka tree majestically reaches out a hand of freedom towards me. Gesturing for me to find a way across the flooded creek to marvel further at his brilliant form and textures.
