My soon to be 13 year old granddaughter has been playing the violin since she was 3, with her upcoming birthday, thought I’d make her a T design that was personal to how I feel about her and her music passion. / As a junior high student, she currently plays first violin in a high school orchestra and will be doing 5 concerts this Spring in Italy. She is also considering attending a High School for the performing Arts in 2 more years. / But, I am not a proud Gramma – LOL ;) This is our SONG
In Thich Nhat Hanh’s book, “Creating True Peace”, he explains that practicing peace is possible with every step, with every breath. It is possible for us to practice together and bring hope and compassion into our daily lives and into the lives of our families, our community, our nation, and the world.” / The night before his enlightenment, the Buddha was attacked by Mara, the Tempter, the Evil One. Mara and his army of demons shot thousands of arrows at the Buddha, but as the arrows neared him, they turned into flowers and fell harmlessly at his feet. Inspired by my dear friend Jaybe aka TruePotential and a new endeavor that many here are joining into to help with the Tibetan Relief Fund by donating artwork to the gallery for proceeds to help these children in need… This mandala of a lotus with a rainbow reflection reminded me of the Buddha story and creating Peace with Mindfulness and Awareness. I am posting it now here to introduce this project…if you are interested in purchasing it, please click the link for True Potential and purchase from that gallery to help the children of Tibet…Namaste’ From a Distance

Radio London History / The UK had no radio to speak of prior to 1964. Offshore, or “pirate”, stations began broadcasting from ships and forts in the North Sea. These stations played a massive part in the 1960’s culture. People have never forgotten Radio London because in 1964, it brought listeners something they never heard before – American format radio and jingles. Some dear friends of mine in Colorado have a band called Radio London and they have just launched a website with their music, history and scheduling for future music endeavors. / Their Vintage Rock sound with a touch of R&B is quite a dancing combination, this T-shirt design is their logo and all sales proceeds will go to them!
T-shirt version of my books’ artwork and fave Thoreau quote…
In 1968, my husband, Lynn Rosevear, started a small business in Buena Park for Volkswagen accessories. It eventually grew to 17 retail stores throughout California, with stories written in VW trends magazine and an off-road racing team as well. / This is a photograph of the AutoHaus logo designed by Dave Deal (remember ‘Deals Wheels’ – had a few of those hotwheels – hehehe), the business unfortunately went south (long story), but the memories are still spoken of with the entire family… VW

Celtic knotwork has always fascinated me – this particular work was inspired by Brigid, as this is the energy which was focused upon while creating ~ as she is the ruler of poetry and inspiration, the goddess of smithcraft, as well as healing and medicine. Pronounced ‘breed’, her name means “bright one” or “bright arrow” to the Celts. / The interlaced patterns with their unbroken lines symbolize humankind’s pilgrimage, both as a quest to return to our divine source and our spiritual growth as we move along in the quest. The pattern is to be mentally unraveled, which, while occupying the mind with a repetitive task, creates a deeper concentration enabling us “to see.” In this it is akin to the use of a mantra or rosary beads. / This design was a sketch photographed and painted in photoshop7 with the Redfield plug-in fractilius filter.
This mandala is representative of the medicine of BEAR, which for Native American peoples, is considered (along with the wolf) as one of the last true symbols of the primal, natural world, and many ecologists believe that how humans respond and protect their lands and their future will be the most honest depiction of how serious humanity is about preservation of our environment and the natural resources within it. Also, the bear is considered kin to himans, because, like birds, it can stand and walk upon two legs. / Bear teaches us to go within and awaken the potentials inherent and bring them to the world and apply them. Introspection that makes accomplishing goals and dreams that we carry come to fruition. Becoming like BEAR and entering the safety of the womb-cave, we must attune ourselves to the energies of the Eternal Mother (Earth), and receive nourishment from the Great Void (unconscious/universe), where all solutions and answers live in harmony with the questions that fill our realities. / Each and every being has the capacity to quiet the mind, enter the silence and KNOW. / Bear resides in the West of the medicine wheel, symbolic of our intuitive/feminine side or right brain and to hibernate, bear travels within the four lobes where the pineal gland resides (lying just under the pituitary gland, behind the eyes, highly responsive to light waves)also resonating our Crown Chakra, the control center for the effective functioning of our physical, emotional and mental selves. / This also links us to our faith, attitudes, beliefs, values, conscious, courage and humanitarianism. This level and power abandons intellect and EGO to the power of passionate experience and “knowing”. / Bear medicine is ultimately knowing yourself ~ your body, mind and spirit ~ using your strengths to overcome your weaknesses, whilst knowing also that both are necessary in our evolution. Drawing photographed and edited, colored with wacom pen in photoshop 7 with redfield plug-in fractilius filter and coloring adjustments to finalize.
