As I finished this work this morning, I was soon reminded that my path must be sacred and true, as I witnessed 4 Bald Eagles and 2 Golden Eagles sitting along the river treeline, never since we’ve been here have I seen a grouping like this together. My body was tingling from head to toe and I got so caught up in the beauty, I could only take a few photographs (which I’ll share soon). / In Northern America, the Eagle was considered great medicine power. To the Native Americans there were different kinds and divisions of Eagles. The Golden Eagle had a very high rank. The most potent and magical was the Sky Eagle which the Iroquois called Shadahgeyah. Among the Hopi, the Eagle god was called Kwahu and according to their legends, this great bird seldom came below the clouds; only the holiest of Shamans ever saw it. Even the Aztecs said this bird represented celestial power and the rising Sun. / As a Solar Eclipse approaches with the Chinese New Year on 1/26/09, the thought behind this Mandala becomes more clear…”We Are ALL One Tribe” Rainbow Hoop Created with Wacom Graphic pad/pen and enhanced with Redfield plug-in fractilius filter and photoshop7

The Green Man is an ancient pagan symbol of our relationship to the plant kingdom. Men become tree-like, and the Green Man sports plants and leaves and boughs growing from his mouth or beard or his hair. / In the Green Man we have an archetype for our relationship to both the cosmos and the Earth – to Father Sky and Mother Earth. Plants are born from and connect the two. Plants are, like us, cosmic beings; they guarantee that the sun’s generous efforts to pour its energy over the earth are not in vain. The Sun finds ready receptivity in the plants. / Interestingly, the archetype of the Green Man also respects silence and introspection, which are common traits among farmers and indigenous peoples, those who remain close to the land. The Green Man honors for us how rich and deep the roots of nature are, telling us that we need to germinate under the soil, in the silence of our hearts. Rainbows represent perfect balance and harmony, completion, health and wholeness. As we see them, we have come through difficult lessons and done a good job and our higher self is well pleased. / Ripples, like throwing a stone into water, creates an emanating circle of one ripple touching another, and another, touching another endlessly… / As I photographed this rainbow, I was reminded that my chosen path has always led me safely through difficulties, so that I may guide another through the same or similar difficulty – a connection of completion by sharing life’s trials and tribulations without dweeling upon them – but releasing them like the stone that sinks to the bottom of the pond, yet creating an endless touching circle of relationship and paying it forward. / The rainbow bridge across this redbubble site has had a remarkable rippling affect on me and the connections of human-beings I feel so akin to, for this I’m grateful and hopeful that it continues to touch me deeper… Love can build a bridge Photo enhanced in Photoshop7 with Water ripple from redfield plug-in

Image is a caduceus drawn in paint, enhanced in photoshop with redfield plug-in fractilius. A rod entwined by two serpents and capped with the wings of Mercury. This symbol dates back over 4,000 years, usually associated with divinities in Phoenicia and Babylonia. In Egypt and India where it became the Hindu image of the kundalini. In alchemy it stood for the integration of opoosites (mercury and sulphur). The association with medicine comes from the link between the snake and rejuvenation: a staff with a single snake is the attribute of Aesculapius, god of healing. Jung saw the caduceus as the emblem of homeopathic medicine – the snake that both poisons and cures. Out of ashes, new beginnings, / Out of fire comes new power, / Out of darkness, new day dawning, / Phoenix, help me in this trying hour. DJ Conway The Phoenix is the most famous of all rebirth symbols, a legendary bird that endlessly renews itself in fire. / Initially a symbol of the cyclic disappearance and reappearance of the Sun, the Phoenix soon became an emblem of human resurrection – and eventually of the indomitable human spirit in overcoming trials. Honoring intuition, using discernment, outsmarting deception and trusting first impressions are some of the ‘medicine’ traits of the OWL. / The ‘Medicine’ of TRUTH…like the invisible owls you hear at night, your awareness in the midst of blackness, perceives reality. In the night you find illumination. Oh yes, the night is dark, but the world is still real for those who see with their intuitive side. / My dear sister Judi, as you learn to trust your clairvoyant nature, you learn that truth flows through you, much the same way silent OWL glides through the night. My husband came in from outside, quite giddy with this discovery – a Great Horned Owl in one of our many Pine Trees surrounding the ponds that he was cleaning debris from. Over the years, a variety of people, cultures, and species have been given credit for the building of Stonehenge. Some of the most legendary figures trying to take responsibility have included: / Giants: According to old myths, dancing giants were caught in a sunbeam and petrified to stone, causing the monument to be nicknamed the “Giant’s Ring”. The stones were also believed to have healing power. / Merlin and King Arthur: Some believe Merlin himself assembled Stonehenge to commemorate slain chieftains. It’s also rumored that the Sword in the Stone, which would eventually lead Arthur onto the throne and into legend, was made from Stonehenge Stones. / Aliens: Most of the world’s earliest and most elaborate crop circles are found within a forty-mile (64km) radius of Stonehenge. Scientists today are unable to replicate crop circles, suggesting that their construction and that of Stonehenge should perhaps be credited to a more intelligent species. / Atlanteans: According to Plato, the Kingdom of Atlantis controlled the islands of the Atlantic and built many stone structures to better predict future events based on astronomical calculations. Given the fate of Atlantis, which supposedly sank into the sea, it’s debatable how accurate their predictions could have been. / Druids: John Aubrey, a Stonehenge scholar, erroneously suggested this connection three centuries ago. The Druids are an earth-based faith that we now have formed much later than the building of Stonehenge. The Druids do celebrate the summer solstice, same as Stonehenge’s true builders, and they have recently made it a tradition to incorporate this ancient monument into current rituals. / The Beaker Folk from 2500 BC are believed to have done some of the work on Stonehenge. They were an aggressive culture that invaded the Salisbury Plain. From artifacts, we know that the Beakers were sophisticated, organized, understood mathmatics, worshipped the Sun, and celebrated the solstices. This makes them ideal builders for some of the site. / The other cultures that contributed to Stonehenge remain a mystery, though archaeologists are getting closer and closer to finding answers. This is a photograph of a full scale replica of Stonehenge that was erected as a WWI memorial by Sam Hill, in Maryhill, WA which overlooks the mighty Columbia River and Mount Hood. Elizabeth Barrette Ostara brings an optimistic energy as we celebrate the beginning of Spring and a turning point as the Northern Hemisphere once again tilts back towards the Sun. Until this tilt takes place, now is the time of balance – equal day and night – yet also a time of anticipation, as from this night forward, the light once again conquers the darkness. Many Native American Medicine Society’s, in almost every tribe consisted of a society of women, or bringers of the rain that nurtures the abundance of their food sources. The Three Sisters ~ corn, beans and squash fed many tribal peoples as a regular staple when game, fish and other crops were not plentiful. The WhirlWind Buffalo Sisterhood began just before Miracle, the white buffalo calf was born in Wisconsin, on August 20, 1994. A rainbow culture promising peace among all nations and all people, stressing equality and opposing any superior race that controls or conquers other peoples. The Unity of all colors, all creeds, all beliefs, working together for the good of the whole and when all pathways to wholeness are respected by all cultures, the prophesy of the Whirling Rainbow will be completed. When the time of the White Buffalo, the third generation of White eyes children will grow their hair and speak of love as the healer of the Children of the Earth. These children will seek new ways of understanding themselves and others. They will wear feathers and beads and paint their faces. They will seek the Elders of the Red Race and drink of their wisdom. These white-eyes will be a sign that the ancestors are returning in white bodies, but they are red on the inside. They will learn to walk the Earth Mother in balance again and reform the ideas of the white chiefs. These children will be tested as they were when they were Red ancestors by unnatural substances, like firewater, to see if they can remain on the Sacred Path. After the time when the buffalo returned, the generation following the Flower Children would see the dawning of the Fifth World of Peace. Appearing to those who see, would be a Sun Dog, or full rainbow circle around the Sun that has bright white lights at the Four Directions, a rare natural phenomena. Enough of the Earth Children will be awakened to carry the responsibility of the teachings and the healing process will begin in full swing. Many will remember their “purpose” for being here on Earth and will develop their gifts to assist humanity. Truth will shatter the bonds of separation and goodness will prevail with tolerance, acceptance and understanding. The WhirlWind Buffalo Sisterhood has consistently sought knowledge that changes lies to truths, that have made us mistrust one another and replace the illusion of separation with the truth of UNITY. In non-violence and peaceful energetic, teach that a worthy opponent will present lessons to make us grow beyond any high drama and into a sense of unity within Self, to then share with others remembering that any challenges to unity are equal to our ability to overcome them. The buffalo symbolized not only the strength of the Whirlwind, but also prosperity and abundance ~ the past 15 years, since Miracles’ birth ~ the Tribe of All Nations has been gathering physically, mentally, emotionally, tribally, socially, morally and spiritually all over the world, even more so with cyber-space communications. Forgiveness not forgotten

Back in 1992, I wrote this quote in my journal, “Forgiveness is a courageous attempt to add steps to the ladder of the future. To forgive oneself is the doorway to heaven and the challenge of lives to come.” I cannot remember who the author was, but this quote is a part of my daily routine - / I forgive myself for what I’ve done yesterday, today and tomorrow! / In my counseling efforts the issue of forgiveness is always misconstrued, that in order to forgive you must embrace the person forgiven – this is NOT to say you need live with them, tolerate future abuse, or forget the lessons learned from this relationship. I guess that this particular belief is what sparked the inspiration for this writing at 2am this morning. / I am hopeful that someone struggling with Self-Esteem earns their presence and ability to hold themself in enough regard and strength NOT to compromise themself for Survival, Affection or Success! / Peace~ Imagine my surprise today 5/6/09, when my sweet sister DevineDay Dreams created created this beautiful artwork to accompany this poem…

Anam Cara is Gaelic for “soul friend”, while working on this Knotwork the thought of this Celtic circle of belonging would not leave my mind… / John O’Donohue’s book was one of the most profound and life-changing reads of my life ~ “Friendship is the sweet grace that liberates us to approach, recognize, and inhabit this adventure. A creative and subversive force, claiming this intimacy is the secret law of life and universe. The human journey is a continuous act of transfiguration. If approached in friendship, the unknown, the anonymous, the negative, and the threatening gradually yield their secret affinity with us. As an artist, the human person is permanently active in this revelation. The imagination is the great friend of the unknown. Endlessly, it invokes and releases the power of possibility. Friendship, then, is not to be reduced to an exclusive or sentimental relationship; it is a far more extensive and intensive force. / The Celtic imagination articulates the inner friendship that embraces Nature, divinity, underworld, and human world as one. The dualism that seperates the visible from the invisible, time from eternity, the human from the divine, was totally alien to them. / The Anam Cara was a person to whom you could reveal the hidden intimacies of your life. Not leaving well enough alone, I ventured into googling and found an amazing photograph (hven.swarthmore.edu) of a Wind Bubble and began searching more of the Stellar Winds ~ this all seemed to fit, so I sketched a female figure being blown by the wind and layered it atop the Wind Bubble, editing a little more with the Redfield fractilius plug-in to bring the force of the wind alive with evidence of its power, though unseen… “Thought is the Wind, knowledge the sail, and mankind the vessel. ” August Hare

Moose calves are born with their eyes open, if they live through their first month, it’s most likely they will survive to become an adult. Moose are herbivores and they are the largest antlered animals of all ~ with the males only growing them (rarely a female with hormone imbalances will grow them as well). The moose has no enemies except the grizzly bear and humans. / Moose medicine invites you to explore new depths of awareness and sensitivity within yourself and within your environment. Groups: join the ones you feel you can get the most exposure and follow their specific rules, you can click onto anyone in your watchlists’ list of groups to seek commonalities. Or, while looking at artwork posted by others, on the right side where the description is – below are underlined groups that have accepted the artwork and you can click those to learn more. Challenges: RB just made most of the challenges really very easy as the group will send notice in your overview feed, click onto enter now and all the work you have uploaded will show up to chose from for entering; note whether they require a TAG, you may need to edit before entering. They have not yet mastered entering “writing” works, most groups do it in forums. / The next box down is Redbubble Community News, always interesting tidbits for the benefit of the community at large. / If you are into FORUMS, the next section lists your Watched Topics, the forums you have the most interest in watching. Across the top of your page are small buttons, their functions are: / ACCOUNT – edit profile, change portrait (icon), edit addresses for payment, accepting user agreement, edit payment details, viewing sales, change password and/or cancelling account. / ART – from here you can either add a new piece of Artwork or view all the art you have uploaded so far, details of total amount of ART & views can be seen at the top OR each artwork shows sales, comments, favorites and views of each individual piece. NOTE: the top 6 artworks show on your profile page and you can move these around according to the arrows at the far right side. You can also click onto ‘edit’ from this page on any individual artworks. Image Sizes: For all sale items except clothing and calendars, the size of images uploaded should be 2500×3500, then in the ‘Items for sale’ section (below tags), you can check all: cards, mounted print, laminated print, canvas print, framed print and posters for sale. If someone requests Large prints, medium & large posters or laminated prints and/or calendars you can then upload a larger image. / T-Shirts – the same as ART applies to Tees. You can save RB’s T-shirt template in your files – the size for the templates are: 2400×3200. In photoshop7, I open template, then add new layer, then open picture file I wish to transfer design, apply, edit the remove the original template and save the completed file as PNG. / Writings – since writings are not for sale, all but sales applies to your creative, poetic or short stories here with views, favorites and comments noted. / Calendars – Same applies here / Journals – all the same notations appear here for your announcements, daily going’s on, features, how-to’s and writings that are different than above. / Watchlist – all you have added as friends, co-artists/writers will appear here – you can also remove them from here. Add people you feel share the same tastes in artwork for support – by clicking on names of commenters, bubblemailers or checking my watchlist and reading profiles, seeing artwork & groups in common. / Favorites – this is where all your favorite art, writings will appear from other artists / Promote – here you will find sales widgets, slideshows, banners, images of your work with links to buy from RB, badges, buttons and links ALL to promote your redbubble works off of the site. / Bubblesite – here is where you can set-up, manage and view your personal bubblesite, different than your profile page. Bubblesite/Gallery: this URL is different than your Profile page it would be http://yourname.redbubble.com – you can click this tab on your page to build and manage it as you add artwork – I suggest you get used to some of the above, so you have optimum pricing and exposure for items for sale. The templates are easy and to manage, you click and drag your artwork into categories you chose. Customers can buy directly from your gallery, without being redbubble members, or you can simply share the URL with friends to see your photos. Written works are not included in the gallery, but all photos uploaded for sale will automatically be in the Manage section to be added to the categories you move them to, I manage my gallery once weekly. / Bubblemail – redbubble members communications Add Images: (description boxes, comments, profile page) / 1. Upload Image, Title, Description, Tags, Groups & Items for sale – SAVE / 2. Click onto buy/preview and save to favorites the card, print and/or framed print, by right clicking image of card or print; then go back to artwork page / 3. No one alive will ever see this again! / I know that I won’t be getting much sleep in August, as my eyes will be on the skies to witness the red planet up close and personal. / Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. It is guesstimated, the next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. / Due to the way Jupiter’s gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the last 5000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again. / The encounter will culminate on August 27th, when Mars comes within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the Moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide, at a modest 75 power magnification. / Mars will look as large as the full Moon to the naked eye and will be easy to spot at the beginning of August as it rises in the east at 10pm and reaching its azimuth at 3am. By the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30 am. / Truly a sight that no human being has seen in recorded history, so mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see and watch Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month… / Mars is the security department head, responding with action and self-defense, making you brave, courageous, daring and even fearless, symbolically speaking.
