Cut white tissue paper scanned into CanoScan 880F and edited in Photoshop Elements 3. / This is an experiment in editing and scanning. I did scan a green cut paper piece a couple of weeks ago, but this white one was an adventure, since it was white against the white of the scanner board…there was very little contrast and almost no color. Like snow, you know? I spent nearly an hour “finding” appropriate color and contrast for it in Photoshop Elements 3, starting with a couple of gradients. /
Acrylic mixed media, stenciled, layers of tissue paper, very old music sheets, textured with Dulux house acrylic to give raised bits on flowers. Using my fingers, knitting needles and my trusty nail file, done in the same vein as the two paintings I sold on their way to Sydney, Enjoy Kym

/ A Pocket Full of Posies Ring a-ring o’ roses, / A pocketful of posies. / a-tissue!, a-tissue!. / We all fall down. I created this from a tissue box for the Mini Challenge: Recycled Art over in the forums here on RB. The tissue box shall now live on my kitchen bench and is the new dispenser for recyclable plastic bags :) this was painted using aquarelle watercolour crayons and black marker pen, over an undercoat of white gesso…fixative applied liberally after to protect the paint work I thought this poem was very appropriate and hence the title….as it was originally a box full of tissues :) there are many variations of this poem, the one i’ve quoted is the UK version.

This is a small area (about 6”x4”) from a large acrylic and tissue paper on canvas that I did 24 years ago. I miss “real” paint. But I don’t miss clogged drains. Until I can find a way to paint with no cleanup I’m not going to do it again. Maybe I’ll try painting with my fingers, wearing vinyl gloves? As is; shot with my little Nikon. / /
