  • A little abstract-ish macro.

  • Shot on a rainy and terribly overcast day, this hummer sat perched on a barrel cactus in Arizona. I still liked his colors. Thanks for looking. / Other hummingbird shots: / / /

  • Macro photography of a water drop on a glittered poinsettia leaf. / Great for a CHRISTMAS Card

  • This gorgeous red zebra finch was captured in a wildlife park near Murray Bridge, South Australia. This image featured in The Birds in June 2009. Many thanks!

  • This plant is in flower now (mid May) in North Cornwall. It likes growing here under trees, especially conifers, though this one is in the open which is probably why it hasn’t spread as rapidly as it is supposed to. Pentax K10D.

  • I’m bored, have a head cold and I’m stuck at home so I had to try and use my imagination with what I had around the house! I don’t know if I’ll keep this one up, I want to try and perfect it. It’s actually just a water drop on top of a tiny bougainvillea flower.. This can give you an idea of how tiny this actually is! Ohh, and this has not received any post processing.

  • A silver bosunbird chick, barely days old, sitting in-between its broken egg. Christmas Island, Indian Ocean Territories, Australia. Taken with Canon 5D and 28-105mm L Series lens @ 105mm. / As is – no editing.

  • A female hummingbird sits quietly in curiosity before me the other day in a tree branch ouside my room… She was soooo tiny a bird & delightful in play… Thanks for cking her out.. :) Looks best on a larger viewing here.. Urban Wildlife bird challenge~ / Nikon D60 ~ 55-200 / Summer 2008 ~ N.E. Conn ~

  • Forget Me Not- Worked in Photoshop. / At first glance the ‘forget me not’ is a tiny plant that you could walk by and hardly notice. But on closer inspection like most things from mother nature it is absolutely beautiful. I think I did her justice Canon 400D – 100mm 2.8 macro lens- photoshop CS3 /

  • Original art & Design

  • Hummingbird perched on a tree branch peeking back at me. / Photo taken in Cave Creek, Arizona. / Canon 20D Other hummer shots: / / / /

  • Tiny flower seed shot in macro. Canon 400D :) /

  • Water-drop on a petal taken in macro photography Canon 400D / Canon 100mm macro USM lens /

  • There’s something very soothing and calming about these water drop/condensation shots for me. Maybe it’s the perfect symmetry of the drops or the way they look like falling rain that’s frozen in time… either way they just make my stressfulness melt away. Anyway, this is condensation on a water bottle… I shot this using my macro lens and extension tubes as well as my flash. I don’t think I had a background on this one.. just the white screen of my computer. Enjoy!

  • As mentioned in my Penguin in a Snow Storm, I saw mobii’s Origami Penguin Tee shirt, and wanted to give it a go myself. This is the scenario I had in mind for it, and the first penguin I folded (the one in Penguin in a Snow Storm folded from a 7×7mm piece of paper) was too small, so I folded two bigger penguins with 14×14mm pieces of paper. The one on the left is flying up a bit after the right one stomped onto the other end. The seasaw is a cotton swab, and the “ice”, upon which the penguins and seesaw are reflected, is a plastic container. For a better idea of scale: / This work has been featured in / Color Me a Rainbow / Little Things To Make You Smile This work won 1st place in this challenge but the record got lost due to this accident. But I’m very thankful to the host Pene who has re-accepted my work into the group and made a special note in the challenge about my winning work. / / / / / It looks great on a card! • Abstract Macro Photography The picture below is a stolen, burnt out car. / This is showing the rear right side. / You can see what has been produced by the fire / Armley Woods, Leeds. / sunday 31.5.09 / 7.15am / For all these phenomina to appear on the car, the car has been left on fire, and eventually, there is nothing left on the car to burn, so it just dies out. the paint work on the car , bubbles up and seperates itself from the metal at very hot temperatures. / Once it is all cool down, it is very delicate. / You just blow the flakey paint lightly, and this abstract art lies beneath. / If the car had been put out by water, im pretty sure that no abstracts would have appeared.
