I’m having very busy and interesting time just now, trying to figure out if a part-time career in photography here in the Netherlands could work for me… Not much time to add new works to my RB portfolio (and I can’t do too much anyway before some house-keeping on my computer will be finished, because both my harddisks got totally full!) but it seems like my works submitted earlier are still doing well: Tea time dreaming was featured in the Photography 101 group last month after making it to the Top Ten of Experimental Photography: More than meets the eye! challenge: At the lake was featured in The Beauty of the European Waters group three weeks ago, and once more in the same group last week, together with my other images Trümmelbachfälle: cyan 1 and Trümmelbachfälle: cyan 2 after scoring 3rd place in the group’s Lake Impressions challenge: Last but not least, Tear made it recently to the Top Ten in the Tears challenge of the Capturing Emotion group: Thanks to the voters, thanks to the hosts of the groups, and thanks to all of you, my dear friends, for your comments and support! Have a nice day and good light :) / Lenka

It is that time of the year again, where I say good bye to work and hello to vacation, well for 2 weeks atleast. This year Leslie and I are going back home to Nova Scotia but this time we will be spending time in Halifax, and I will be taking her to Magic Mountain in Moncton New Brunswick. For those of you who don’t know what that is, here is a picture. I can’t HARDLY wait…. and I used to get paid to go there :D

Soon analog will be a thing of the past; digital is taking over everything. I feel sorry for a generation of kids who will have no sense of personal achievement in learning “how to tell time.” No trick to it, when digital timepieces just tell you right off. / / With everything else rushing headlong into the digital age, the one piece of analog technology I would hope still has a place in our lives is clocks. Grandfather clocks, ornate timepieces, clear-faced watches that let you see all the little gears whirring around inside, the sound of tick, tock, tick, tock. Of course, even battery operated analog clocks don’t say “tick, tock” anymore. What a pity. However. In a crusade to save analog clocks from extinction, I have begun a collection of clock face designs. When ordered as a mounted print on that wonderfully strong yet light weight board that RB uses to mount them, almost any picture could be a clock. All you have to do is drill a hole in it and add hands and a battery operated clock mechanism, available at almost any craft store. Then, all you’d have to do is stick something on the back to hold it away from the wall … I think those clock battery mechanisms are less than an inch deep … and there you’ve got a unique clock. / / Maybe other RB’ers will get on the bandwagon, maybe this idea of creating art as clock faces will catch on, or maybe it won’t. Either way, these designs can all be converted into clocks, and I hope you like them. I’ve had a lot of fun coming up with them so far.
I cxould not resist taking another shot this morning it was so cute to see thought you might enjoy it too.

O.K. This too, I’ve written before. / I’ve actually been looking for one particular photograph, to use as a subject for my next painting but, already having a reputation for being untidy (Elsewhere I’ve shown my first report card, in 1st class, where my teacher wrote that, fifty-seven years ago.)I’ve enhanced that by pulling apart photo albums, slide boxes, etc., etc. these last eleven years, to put pictures on the internet. / Going through the piles (now) of pictures I came across these again. / ........ / ” Joop was twelve and Netty was six ”.......I’ve heard many dozens of times. ....” when we migrated ”. / Destined to partner up, one day, was thought to be the way things ought to be. But different roads were taken and the great outcome is two very talented and intelligent ‘kids’ (Now adults), call me Dad. That’s what was meant to be. / / No doubt. / . / . / Who would have worn the skirt / in the family? / . / . /

In Dimensions... / Autumn Water The northern mountain is blanked in cloud; / for one who hides away, it’s pleasing — perfect. / So that we could visit each other, I’ve tried to climb high; / my heart follows along, like a wild goose, to exhaustion. / It’s the hour to see village people returning; / they walk on the sand, rest at the ferry landing. / At the edge of the sky, the trees look like grass; / Near the river bank is an islet shaped like the moon. / How welcome if you met me with some wine! / We’d share, intoxicated together through the autumn festival. Thank you to the Group Moderators
