This is a Night Blooming Cereus, and as you see by the name, yes, they bloom only at night. The blooming process begins right at dusk and is not completed until about 1 to 2am. These flowers begin too grow in the months of May until about November here in the New Orleans area. As the sun rises, the flower begins to close and die. That individule flower does not bloom again. If I could bottle the scent that is given by this flower during its blooming process, I would do it in a heartbeat. The scent fills the air and resembles a very sweet vanilla scent mixed with an almond oil scent. It’s a beautiful process to watch and photograph, but it makes for a very long night, but well worth it. This is just one of many many photos that I shot of this flower and others that bloomed afterwards.

About 21 days ago, I discovered this marvellous forum topic ‘Choose the RedBubble Home Page’ , where anyone who feels inspired and motivated, can make a layout suggestion for the Redbubble homepage. RED (=one of the admins) does browse that topic regularly (among other places) to choose the Redbubble homepage features. So it can happen that one of the layouts suggested in the topic is actually chosen for the Home Page. / Of course, long not all of them are picked. But still, making a homepage layout is really fun to do, and I got completely hooked to it. / So I made quite a lot of them already, and in order to keep track of them, I would like to copy and safe them in this journal (and probably in a few following ones too LOL ) . / Of course, you are always welcome to browse through them and have a look. I will add new ones as I make them . And of course, in the event that some of my layouts do get chosen for the HP (yes, it did happen a few times YAY), I will add a screeenshot and a date too :) / All the thumbs are linked to the original artworks, so if you see something you really like, you also can pop over and leave a comment to the artists themselves. Enjoy! Paris is a city of great architecture, culture, history and romance. I have loved it since the first time I visited it over ten years ago. I normally go to Paris once a year, in different seasons, trying to capture its changing moods, colours and lifestyle as affected by the weather and the seasonal events. My favorite place in Paris is the Jardin Du Luxembourg. I love the way Parisians are able to relax and enjoy their leisure time, reading books sitting on the garden’s public chairs and benches, the elderly playing chess and other games and couples kissing for hours, seemingly oblivious of everyone around them.Medium: Black and White Kodak Tri-x film

A touch of a hand upon a loved one brings intimacy and promise. Sharing a touch reminds us of the first time we held hands and the tingling sensation that ran through our bodies. Why should that sensation ever leave? Relive it with each touch or by glancing at a photo to give that gentle reminder. This photo was taken for a 10th wedding anniversary but don’t wait for anniversaries to capture the moments.

I composed this design fully on Photoshop elements. It maybe the first image I made totally this way. I hope you think it was a successful experiment. Let me know, please! It derives from a clock at a funky bar in Thailand that had no hands and the word ‘NOW’ marked across its face. It became the ‘time’ for everything! There can be a lot of fun ‘right now’.
