A bit of sneaker wave caught me by surprise as it suddenly swept over the 2 rocks in front of me as the tides came in at sunset near Ecola Beach. Terrible Tillie, also know as the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse hides on the horizon

So how did that happen? OK I had a pic of my cat Tilly (she saved my life once!) full screen on the computer. In marched herself and sat down in front of the screen, and sucked in her cheeks. I grabbed the camera and well that is the result. What a poseur – LOL

The word that strikes fear into horse owner…Colic. / Before today I had never (thank goodness) had to experience this. Those of you who dont know of my mare, Matilda (Known as Tilly), she is an older mare, Bay breeding stock Paint (Meaning no colour): / Tilly This morning at about 8 my younger brother and I headed out to the paddock to catch the horses, planning to go riding. We saw the other mare, Adina, standing under a tree but no sight of Tilly. Suddenly my brother yelled and pointed and I saw the shape of a horse lying on the ground. My heart felt like it was ripped from my chest as I dropped the bridle I was carrying and ran across the paddock towards her. / I slowed down getting closer to her and there was no movement, I really didn’t feel like it was me walking towards her, it felt like a nightmare. As I called out to her, she suddenly lifted her head, I was relieved but as I got closer she didn’t get up. / When I reached her she sighed and then her neck streched out across the ground, gasping for breath . By that time I was sobbing, she looked so weak. We tried to get her up but couldn’t. All the time I was praying and I realized just how much I love her. / My mother rang some friends, and I finally managed to get Till up and walking, as I thought it would have to be colic. / For a few hours we walked, stopped, she tried to lay down again, we walked and rested. Finally she passed wind and manure and wanted to drink water. / Now she’s acting normal, I’m watching her closely but the worst is over we believe. I talked to a friend who is a horse expert (also the old owner of Tilly) and we did everything right it seems. So it has been a crazy morning, I’m so relieved that she is looking better now. I thought that I might have lost her and it really shook me.

Something has been bugging me about the original for months. Fixed it. (Nearly). So here she is again posing in front of a picture of herself on the computer screen. Of interest to cat peeps Tilly is one of five ginger female born in one litter. You know how rare they are. A record perhaps. And, before you ask, yes she is my owner. LOL

My time machine landed 20 years ago. I am stumbling through a landscape of sometimes vague and sometimes clear memories. These two etchings show Tilly as a child and as a woman. Don’t know where she is now. Hope she’s fine.

My daughters kitty. We found her…..or I should say she found us a couple years ago. She was half starved and wandering around in the snow. So we took her and gave her love. She gives love back, but on her terms. lol
