This shot was taken in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on the Gulf Coast. A beautiful cloudy day with the sun going down over the horizon. A flock of seaguls were enjoying the quiet beach. The fog created a cool mystical feeling.
Right at the south of the Apple Isle are some magnificent, untouched beaches. This is just one of them. At sunset. – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Black & white photography – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Monotone photography
Surveyor’s Bay deep down in south Tasmania. What a beautiful place. – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Black & white photography – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Monotone photography
I didn’t see the 4 layers of waves when I snapped the picture but was quite enthralled with the image after I noticed it. This was taken at White Point Beach Lodge on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
Cute starfish lying on the beach in a bikini.
This shot was taken at Noosa National Park. As the sun was setting the light to the North was just so dramatic and colourful…I couldn’t resist
You can see another of man’s follies in the background..the desalination plant….consuming vast quantities of energy to get fresh water from the ocean with hypersaline water the bypoduct blasted back into the ocean…what an eyesore

Another of my back catalogue images – this time, a coastal scene taken from Countesbury Hill looking west over Lynmouth Bay, North Devon. When I visited the location in 2005, it was VERY wet on Exmoor, and the light was terrible – apart from a couple of streams, I had nothing noteworthy photographed, so headed for the coast instead, and had to position myself quite carefully to miss the road in the picture, but still stay on top of the cliffs. This image was taken in very low light conditions, and had terrible noise (no RAW to play with back then) on a Canon G2, so has had to be played with quite heavily, and in doing so, I feel I have lost a lot of the detail. However, the mood is still there, so I offer it for critique here on RB. I quite like its darkness.

Perhaps it is a cliched photograph. But I couldn’t resist. Also taken in North Carolina: / A Sandy Stairway To Heaven / Rhapsody In Blue / A Show For One /
A deserted beach in Barbardos… In case you wonder why this title—the whole scene reminds me of our efforts to reach new heights, strive to be better, go further, push the limits and sometimes resist the forces of nature…. Not sure if it is good, or bad, but it is who we are – or at least most of us.
Sometimes the walk back along a jetty can be as wondrous as the walk to the end of it. If you like this, you’ll love my Australian Beaches Calendar!! You can get this shot and 11 other beautiful beach shots for just $30 :) /

I love the ocean and its inhabitants. Whenever I find a seashell, I put it to my ear and listen. I wrote the following for the image. Put your ear to the shell / and hear the ocean’s swell. / Within its ripple and its tide, / there are many who reside. / Listen closely to all its glory / and you will hear a mermaid’s story. — / Anne Hale Featured in The Patchwork Group. Also vailable as a print. /
