  • Photographed at Wilsons Promontory National Park

  • The picturesque bank on the opposite side of Tidal River to the bustling summer metropolis of Tidal River Camping Ground is amongst the most photographed scenes at the Prom. This particular morning the light was overcast and dull but the reflections were perfect in the tanin stained waters. As I remember I used a two stop grad filter to even up the reflection as they are always darker than their mirror opposites. A beautiful spot that is definitely worth a visit. This picture gave me my first framed print sale (large) on the bub. For more shots from this area check out my Wilsons Promontory gallery. 10% of all profits go to the Wilderness Society

  • as always please click on the image for a better view.. A windy evening looking up Tidal river towards the cloud capped Mt. Latrobe. With any chance of nice light gone because of the weather. I had a perception that the very strong winds could add to a moody image by creating leading lines on the river surface with a longer exposure. I hope you like the resultant photograph. / / / / Fuji G617 – no cropping,no stitching. • A very simple image, less complex than my other seascapes but so striking, I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy and this has the back remains of Mordor stone washed clean Gandalfs trailing beard and the forces of Light over Darkness! – pure Bulls#8t but it works for me. See, the Influence of the Dark Stolk Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Nikkor Lens / Dawn light cleanses the remains of Mordor

  • This is Newcastle Canoe Pool. The waves were gigantic this afternoon – it’s not very often that water flows out over this side of the pool…. I’ve posted different versions on another site

  • A storm brewing over Newcastle Baths today at lunch. I had on a polarising filter, an ND4 filter and a Grad Grey filter to get this shot.

  • Shot at my favorite set of rocks on the beach in the North bay at Kaikoura, New Zealand, lovely soft blue tones as the light dies. This is one of about 20 frames, the others have fuller and more typical wave patterns. I like this one because i got it by accidence, as soon as I saw it i thought of a pipe or mouth blowing smoke. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Nikkor Lens, ND 8 soft Grad, tripod with weighted bags.

  • Shot in the North Bay at Kaikoura, 17, 07.09, low tide reflections, seaward Kaikoura ranges to the left, so calm so still you m,ay think, the sea was coming in fast, by the time I’d finished this set I was standing in the water. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Lens, Cokin ND8 soft grad, Raw files with Active D-Lighting on High.
