  • Speaks for itself really

  • This ones is for ROSIE! My adopted Mom, she in heaven, now! But she inspired me very, very much! Some with her art, but even more with her love! Mr. Ford, and her, took me in, after my Dad died! Her favorite say’n was Ticked Pink! I love you, Rosie! For anybody who has not heard about the Flower Power Project, yet! We are going to set a World Record, before we are done building the largest calloge of images of flowers! The screensaver is for promotion purposes only, and the images are being used to gain support as I show people what we are doing! I highly encourage you to get involved, and add your own contributions, and be a part of history! We plan on adding all the images that are contributed, until we have covered the globe, and have made a statement for the artists community! / If you copy theses tags, flower power project screensaver , and paste into the RB search feild, then click search! This should bring up about 300 images that have been contributed already, by amazing talent here on RB! It is growing everyday, and the support is helping promote the Project! Our first venue is set for Frisco, Texas on March 15, 2008 at Frisco Square! It will include artists of RedBubble, as well as local artist, and the students from Frisco ISD, to start with! As we go, we will add more images to the calloge, from any artist who wishs to contribute! You will help with making a statement, and be a part of making history! / If you like what you see, feel free to add the same tags to your images, if you would like to add to the project! Hope to see yours added, soon!

  • Helenium autumnale (Sneezeweed) Flowering – August – November. Habitat – Moist ground along streams, ponds, ditches, wet meadows, wet prairies, wet open ground. Origin – Native to U.S. Other info. The plant is simple to identify in the field because of its heavily winged stems, and solid yellow flowers heads. Another winged species, H. flexuosum Raf., has flowerheads with yellow rays and dark brown disk flowers. H. autumnale was used traditionally to treat many ailments. A snuff of dried and powdered plants was used to treat colds. This snuff induces sneezing. A lactone found in the plant, Helenalin, shows very good antitumor activity. This same compound is toxic to invertebrates as well as fish. The plant is also ignored by cattle and livestock. As the species epithet would indicate, this species blooms in late summer way into late fall. I found these on Carpenter’s Prairie near my home in northeast Iowa. ! /

  • Eos guarding her feet from tickles… Eos is a foundling… she was discovered as a tiny, ragged and filthy kitten by our two Chihuahuas when out on a walk. She was extremely brave and defiant, and the dogs’ barking didn’t faze her in the least! / She’s still quite the rebel, always coming up with ways of keeping herself entertained, weather it’s shredding papers and cardboard or playing fetch… / She’s just now started to purr, we didn’t know that she could! She’s also started to “knead the dough” when she’s snuggling, but she usually only uses one of her paws for that while keeping the other firmly anchored with her claws… / We never intended on keeping her, but after trying to find an appropriate, loving home for her, we realized that she had already integrated herself into our home and our hearts! / featured in For the Love of Cats and Tabby Time / September, 2009

  • This morning my goal was to take pictures of birds, but my pics of my dried flowers ended up better. I was “tickled pink” with this random shot of my dried Allium seed heads. I try to keep these cut back because the seeds spread like wildfire in my garden. Natural focus – the only edit to this photo is a change in hue from green to pink/lavender. / Taken 11/9/09 in my backyard, Clarks Valley, PA
