So I stopped and relocated him to a much safer location. I then grabbed the 1ds and took a couple of snaps. The best view was to get as low as possible. So here I am laying on the red dirt, spinifex digging into my back and camera in hand with these tourist buses flying by. I’m sure it was a funny sight to the international tourists but it would be no surprise to the bus driver who is probably thinking “Stupid photographer” site: www.mattlauder.com.au / blog: www.mattlauder.wordpress.com.

Here an Eagle displays characteristics of fighting with its own shadow, perhaps its a way to teach itself how to appear threatening. Or maybe this eagle is lonely and finds the water a challenge in capturing prey such as fish in this moonlit evening. The Kanji characters state: fight with ones own shadow. Lisa C. Photo of a bird’s nest built in a cactus, Southwestern US.
Captured at the Alice Springs Desert Park. They were nice and warm and on the move so the ones of this angle and with the eye open are out of focus unfortunately. Still, I like it.
